C’mon SWANN your words when asked if you would pay the EFL loan off to enable us to strengthen our squad. “I WILL IF NECESSARY.” Well I thinks it’s absolutely NECESSARY now don’t you SWANN. You’ve got our Club into this mess and you’re the only person who can get us out of it. You’re words again “Loft won’t be going until we have a replacement”. How many more lies are you going to subject our supporters to????????

January 15, 2022 at 6:30 pm #221738Bet he falls out with Hill like he did with Hirst.
If so I hope the manager is aloud to tell the fans everything.
If no experience players comes in we are definitely down .2 users thanked author for this post.
January 15, 2022 at 6:49 pm #221741I don’t think Keith will be here at the end of the month, if he gets no backing I think he will walk away.

January 15, 2022 at 7:06 pm #221745Only necessary if you are going to let the Manager strengthen the team.
Does he want the team strengthening, that is the question.

January 15, 2022 at 8:52 pm #221779Isn’t the loan mightily convenient. Club debt free (and asset stripped) and then it needs another £1.7m EFL loan for a club without a penny of debt. The club is then hamstrung in everything it does because of a loan we didn’t need and could be paid back whenever but never gets paid back and still the loan persists, rolled out as an excuse throughout transfer window ‘i’d love to Keith but this loan we just cannot do it’ Most see through it. I don’t think Swann is arsed where the club end up – on its knees or in Northern Counties (kind of like UTI’s position – funny that)

January 15, 2022 at 11:56 pm #221796What was the loan for. Hope it wasn’t anything to do with a spy, sand or a tower

January 15, 2022 at 11:56 pm #221797The demand for retail isn’t what it was on “day one” anymore!

January 16, 2022 at 12:06 am #221798What is the point of paying off the loan?, if all that we bring in is young players that have never kicked a ball in any football league match!!!!, they will be like the present squad, “out of their depth”, we all know that we need a couple of experienced players, but who is going to come to Scunthorpe in iys present situation. The team lost again today, listening to Humberside radio, they got off very lightly at 2-0, and could easily have lost 4 or 5 nil. At the same time, we never looked like scoring, this seems to be the in thing nowadays, I think that it is time for fans to look eleswhere for their Saturday entertainment, simply because you are not going to get any at GP.
If like myself, you find it difficult to lose contact with the club, it might be the answer to do as myself, pay the £10 i-follower fee when the game is actually shown, or just listen to the radio, if it isn’t on there/ just face it,”you are not missing a lot”.
January 16, 2022 at 12:17 am #221799When I say “same old, same old” I meen Exeter 19 shots – 5 on target.
Scunthorpe 5 shots – 0 on target. No point saying much more!!

January 16, 2022 at 12:35 am #221800Its becoming pretty obvious how this clusterfook is gonna pan out ..regardless of If Swann pays the loan off (which as a businessman he wont).
Im now more of the thinking Hill will walk any time between Feb to the end of the season.
To not muster a single shot on target in 90 mins is an embarassment and highlights just how poor we have become.
The NL league is looking nailed on and imo it would be a huge surprise (miracle) for us to survive , more so NL life there after will be very tough and SUFC could find themselves there for years and do well not to fall lower ala Kidiminster …worse still and admin and into the history books as another Bury or Macc town.
SAD TIMES INDEED and despite my hopes of survival are dwindling i remain claret n blue all way through.
Well done to the fans that traveled to Exeter ..its a fair old trek if i recall correctly.

January 16, 2022 at 1:09 am #221802The loan needs paying off due to fact we can’t pay any kind of fee’s for players.
If Swann put money into the club in terms of upped wages for a few to come….didn’t pay off the loan and we went in for players at the end of the window who are due to be out of contract, all other clubs would do is offer a nominal fee and we’d be rejected every time.
This is why it’s very important to get the loan repaid, pay Turan and Hallam for example to get them off the books and at least make a bit of room to then maybe pay 15k, 20k e.g for soon to be out of contract players to get them in now.
Does Swann not realise that by not doing a thing about it that it’s going to put the club more at risk if we go down than it is spending a bit more to at least try and stay up ?
At the moment he’s making John Fenty look like a saint !

Topics: 11Why are people so obsessed with the loan? We have spaces in our squad meaning we can sign players. We just need to find players within our budget willing to come to SUFC? Simon Elliott mentioned on social media that players have turned us down for geographical reasons, family reasons or are just waiting for better offers from elsewhere.
I know we’d all jump at the chance to play for SUFC but it doesn’t meant pro players will.
January 16, 2022 at 9:51 am #221817January 16, 2022 at 10:50 am #221818Why are people obsessed with the Loan? Because its the loan that is not allowing us to pay a fee for any half -decent player, and the other THING that is stopping us paying a decent wage for a decent player is SWANN.
Also our Club has lost all respect in the football community, again this is down to SWANN. His track record on how managers and players alike have been treated is extremely low.THE MAIN PRIORITY IS GET THE LOAN PAID OFF IMMEDIATELY SWANN if you want to try and salvage any respect left for you and your boardroom family. Although I think all the respect has now completely gone.

January 16, 2022 at 11:10 am #221820Well if Mr Swann has said that it will be paid off ‘if required’ … I am certain that we can wholly rely on that.
Why should we be worrying?2 users thanked author for this post.
January 16, 2022 at 11:18 am #221821We will leave it to late again we need someone who is banging goals in. We may have to pay a bit more but come on swan. Where’s your fighting spirit. Your going down like a whimper
January 16, 2022 at 11:53 am #221823Perhaps there’s no money left in the kitty and all the chairman’s funds are tied up elsewhere?
KH did say yesterday there was no moneyJanuary 16, 2022 at 11:58 am #221824Simon Elliott mentioned on social media that players have turned us down for geographical reasons,
They don’t want to relocate to Swann’s Cloud Cuckoo Land?

Topics: 11So if Zanzala turned us down doesn’t that prove that the loan isn’t hindering our attempts to sign players? We can agree to pay what clubs want but if the player doesn’t fancy it then the loan/budget is irrelevant.
January 16, 2022 at 2:18 pm #221838Think you answered your own question up the tearms on offer to the player.
He answered his response by scoring.
That is what’s going to keep us up. Don’t score Don’t win.1 user thanked author for this post.

January 16, 2022 at 3:26 pm #221850Would you relocate from Exeter to Scunthorpe for four months?

January 16, 2022 at 4:21 pm #221853Two things:-
The fact that we have a “loan” in itself means that it will have to be repaid sometime. Why not now? Is it being left outstanding to become a liability for any new owner?
Regarding Zanzala – would it have led to a different outcome had we been in a position to buy rather than loan? Maybe a 2 year contract would have had more appeal than a 6 month loan.2 users thanked author for this post.
January 16, 2022 at 4:44 pm #221857Unlikely anyone would want a two year contract without a get out clause to leave if we go down, perhaps we might want that as well.
