The match against the Mariners will start two hours earlier at the request of Humberside Police.
January 11, 2021 at 12:00 pm #200606Does seem pretty odd!
January 11, 2021 at 12:48 pm #200608Maybe expecting loads of Iron and Cod fans getting drunk in the pubs and fighting outside the ground, but……
January 11, 2021 at 1:30 pm #200612Is this just a generic piece of information that has automatically been posted on the Iron website or is it a recent request by the police? Don’t expect any sensible club or police response anytime soon!!!
January 11, 2021 at 1:47 pm #200613Probably just so they can get the team bus in and out safely during daylight hours. Still pathetic though.
January 11, 2021 at 1:57 pm #200614What I want to know is WHY
January 11, 2021 at 3:18 pm #200626Has the 1st of April arrived early this year?
January 11, 2021 at 3:22 pm #200627What’s the problem with a 1pm ko? It’s not as if you can attend anyway.
The last time we kicked off at that time we won 2-0. I’d take a repeat of that!

Are you ready to settle down to watch a football match at 1pm? I’d sooner it kicked off at 5pm or 7pm, more convenient!
January 11, 2021 at 3:43 pm #200631It took Humbersides finest nearly 50 years to realise the best way to avoid trouble was to escort scunny fans on the train down the prom, still think I am right with my first post just easier to police in the daylight.
January 11, 2021 at 3:59 pm #200635The chief constable has come out and said this has nothing to do with them (the decision) so something isn’t right here

I think it’s more to do with the ” police request ” bit that is baffling, normally we prefer 3pm KO’s particularly in local derbies but it’s no big deal at the moment due to lockdown but again why request it? Floodlights saving? and if so that’s naff all to do with the police anyway.
January 11, 2021 at 4:04 pm #200639Somebody is telling porkies
January 11, 2021 at 4:16 pm #200640Agree it is very strange – this from Humberside Police;
The current lockdown means this is a police free match and the kick off time is something we have no requests about.
Our local commander will be speaking to both clubs this week

5pm or 7pm is much less convenient for me as I’m more likely to be cooking or eating a meal.
1pm is fine. I can go for a longish walk in the morning and get back in time.
Not a problem. I managed it for the Orient game.
January 12, 2021 at 12:18 pm #200685Fair enough NI, I’m clearly not such an early starter in the mornings. It just struck me that the biggest TV games are usually late in the afternoon or evening so presumably they’re the biggest audience slots.
January 12, 2021 at 2:49 pm #200687January 12, 2021 at 4:12 pm #200689So what. With every thing going on in the world and people raise this – what is the issue ?
Perhaps it helps all the players, they can play and get home safely.
January 12, 2021 at 4:20 pm #200691Another issue the Cods have to worry about: –
Grimsby Town: League Two club fined after Covid-19 fixture postponements
January 12, 2021 at 5:26 pm #200696Good to see the EFL are on the ball, fining clubs that don’t obey Covid rules.
What a crying shame they aren’t as quick to HELP clubs suffering during the scamdemic, sorry, pandemic.January 12, 2021 at 5:27 pm #200697Where did the info about the ko time change in the op come from?
The club?January 12, 2021 at 6:11 pm #200705Another issue the Cods have to worry about: –

All down to Holloway according to quite a few codhead fans, blaming his slap dash ways with training and players car sharing when not tested etc etc. He’s gone from being their greatest manager since Buckley ( must have missed Hurst Ist time around ) to being a total gobshite. New name is apparently Runaway, bloody fans eh, what a shower.
January 12, 2021 at 7:46 pm #200714“Scamdemic”, let’s hope you don’t catch it so you can test whether it’s a scam or not. I and possibly others on here have lost relatives/friends to it, so best to keep your fairy stories to yourself.
January 12, 2021 at 9:35 pm #200729My “fairy story?”
Oh my days. Muahahahahahaha.
Best one yet, Healthy, best one yet.
And I never had you as having a sense of humour. You WILL have noted I trust, that those who die, die WITH Covid, not OF Covid?
There is a subtle, but VERY IMPORTANT difference.
So far, my count is 13…not one was ill for more than five days and none went to hospital.
Some killer virus that you need a dodgy test to tell you if you have it.😉Anyway, back to footy.
Who DID say that Dumberside Police asked for the change in ko time?January 13, 2021 at 9:45 am #200758I tried to ask you to keep your moronic and insensitive views to yourself. Your claim of 13 deaths just prove that you are an idiot.

I somehow doubt it’s because we had a wave of flu, broken necks, murders and car accidents while a novel virus hit.
This alone shows that something’s up and it makes the “people are only dying with covid” claims highly unrealistic, since we have no evidence of these waves of other causes of death.
However, I’m sure this is all faked stats according to the conspiracy cranks, because being right and wanting to have the right to do as you please is more important than people’s lives.
January 13, 2021 at 10:17 am #200762Given that social media are (Twitter particularly) are clamping down on conspiracy theories related to Covid-19 in an effort to reduce the spread of disinformation so that one day in the future we might be able to live our lives a little like we used to again, don’t the moderators of this site have a moral and perhaps legal duty to delete and warn posters who publish posts about a ‘scamdemic’ that has only caused ’13’ deaths?
January 13, 2021 at 10:24 am #200763Well said, DM. Free speech has its limits.
So, you won’t bother getting vaccinated, Alcy?
January 13, 2021 at 10:52 am #200766Lol at the forum six…or some of ’em.
1. My “count” refers to Heath’ reckoning posters on here know of deaths. I personally know thirteen positives so far…. As I said, none ill for more than five days, no deaths, none hospitalised.
As for Deerey wanting my post removed: dispicable.
Isn’t that what the liberal left always do when they are frightened of something? Attempt to surpress it.And excess deaths?
Aye.
Right.Last month they (ONS) announced that so far 2020 was marginally above average but below 2018.
So it all changed in December, then?
I think not.
Someone is lying to us one way or another…and the usual lefty liberal sheep just suck it up and regurgitate it.Will I be getting vaccinated? Not unless PHYSICALLY forced.
Now let’s see who is really moronic and insensitive….
Cue Heath….January 13, 2021 at 11:18 am #200768So why are all the hospitals full?
I know! All of those dastardly foreigners coming over here and taking advantage of our free NHS.
Thought Brexit was going to stop all of that malarkey.
