That comment about somehow losing an argument when the comparison with Hitler comes up, was made in the Conservative fanzine the Daily Torygraph, 13 years ago. Unsuprisingly, it’s not so, and never has been, especially as Godwin himself has endorses the view that Trump is comparable to a Nazi. In fact I told you this ages ago….

As for comparison with National Socialists, I don’t think that was Gurn, but you’d struggle to deny your posts contain a lot of characteristic narcissism. Is that a mental illness? If it causes you problems, then certainly. In fact your post here displays classic narcissistic victim syndrome, as it twists reality to manipulate / gaslight others into thinking ‘poor old BI’. So you’re pleased with yourself for encouraging that to happen and the board getting out of hand? There’s occasional provocation and bad language (I’m guilty of that I admit) and there’s spamming to the extent where you and a few others destroy it.

I just got fed up with the constant left/liberal bias, the obsession with woke ideas, racism, mysoginy etc, and the way certain users ganged up on anyone who posted anything that didn’t suit the woke/left agenda, sometimes to the extent of vile insults. Which a certain moderator allowed to stand.

If you look back, to well before Sun-Return, I did try to start a few threads of local/social interest, but they were treated to mockery, the usual insults and exhortations to stick to wokeism, to the seemingly agreed agenda.

It seemed to me that NF was already out of control, the content being dictated by a few, leading the many to leave it alone.

I am a member of quite a few forums, where we discuss all sorts of stuff, usually amicably, where others’ views are respected, whether agreed with or not, and where others’ rights to hold those views is paramount.
It’s called freedom of speech.

The NF on here had none of that. I’m glad it’s gone.

Rather depends on the format and content.
If it were as it was, I’d be inclined to spam it to hell.
If it, and some of the members, showed reform, an understanding that others’ views just MIGHT be as valid as theirs, and some restraint, I’d be happy to go along.
But while it was as it was, no thanks.
The final straw for me was when several on here started trying to get other members cancelled.

How can a forum such as this have an active bias? Especially given that it was a lack of moderation that led to the NFF closure.

UTI99 could post that he’s sick of the anti Swann “bias” on BF. You know as much as me that there is only a bias of opinion because the majority of posters have lost all faith in the ownership, given the events of recent seasons. He is in a minority.

Just because more people disagree with your views than support them isn’t a bias, it’s part of life I’m afraid.

If you or anyone else thinks it’s smart to compare people with Hitler and belittle mental illness– the proof is on this board, though at the moment you won’t be able to find it for obvious reasons — then I’d say neither you nor Gurny are very smart. I’d also say he’s anti-semitic from a number of comments he’s made, but of course that form of racism is acceptable to the left.

The fact that you and the usual suspects support Gurnelista reveals everything.
