June 20, 2022 at 6:13 pm #239150les is right, if we don’t sign another five or six experienced heads within the next week, we are pretty much f***ed.

June 20, 2022 at 6:27 pm #239151Is Taft staying?
June 20, 2022 at 6:31 pm #239152TrasferMarkt says his contract expires on the last day of June. Was it a one year deal after all – or has it changed earlier today?
June 20, 2022 at 7:24 pm #239156I hope permacrocck Hallam follows, talented player on his day. A big pity he only has 3 or 4 a season. I hope Hill has players lined up, as it stands were virtually a fully fledged youth team squad.

June 21, 2022 at 7:30 am #239163Back to Darlington for O’Neill?
Have we paid up his contract?June 21, 2022 at 9:08 am #239169TrasferMarkt says his contract expires on the last day of June. Was it a one year deal after all – or has it changed earlier today?
All players contracts expire at the end of June. I remember during the extended 2020 Covid summer in the Premier League that players had to agree short-term extensions to continue playing for their clubs.
The fact that the players we signed last summer have all now left, several of them in January, is a shocking indictment of the club and how we’ve got to where we are now. I know we’ve had a big turnover of players in recent seasons but this is beyond a joke.
And do we expect it to get any better any time soon? Do we expect Feeney & Nuttall to still be at the club by January? As Les mentions, Taft could be on his way soon. Has Cribb signed a professional contract yet? Will League clubs be watching Owen Foster?

June 21, 2022 at 9:53 am #239171All last summers signings now gone but the chief scout, presumably a major contributor to their recruitment, still remains. Keith Hill said in interview that current recruitment is down to him with possible recommendations from Lee Turnbull, Tony McMahon and maybe even Andrew Boyce and (unbelievably) Dan Gallimore. One significant omission from that list isn’t there?

June 21, 2022 at 11:18 am #239174But is his old man still getting the club to pay his pocket money?
June 21, 2022 at 1:04 pm #239178I think he was shying away from including sonny boy in that list of advisors!
June 23, 2022 at 2:21 pm #239269If it wasn’t for this excellent thread, would we have ever known or noticed. Sadly this gangly loafing striker who gave us an whole 2 minutes v Swindon before sitting on the center spot and disappearing into the non-league ether (a bit like our club) will next season 2023-24 inevitably score against us in National north.

June 23, 2022 at 4:26 pm #239273If he does then good luck to him, he will obviously have found his level and us too.
June 23, 2022 at 11:50 pm #239278There really is no reason to sign new players is there, the club have sold over 1,100 season tickets, and matches will be watched by another 400 or 500 turn out on the day fans, and possibly another 350 away supporters, giving a total of just under 2,000 crowds, similar to last season which shows that Scunny fans are happy to turn up and watch the shite served up to them. Fans should have boycotted the season tickets, and force the club into some action in forming a proper team that can compete even with non-league football, but I suppose it was because of the period of cheaper tickets, but the cheap price would have been kept open if there had not been a run to the ticket office for them, so you only have your ituation.selves to blame for the sad present situation.
