Clarke finding it tough. Wouldn’t even risk another 10 minutes.
    Brown looking match fit.
    System largely working.
Can Kev make it through til the end? He’s looking decent.

Chalk and Cheese from last week.
What a difference of a change of 4 players make.

I have some hope now. More so than after the Carlisle win. It was just refreshing to see competent play.

Having a match fit Brown and Oniarise at the back made all the difference defensively, rather than having Cordner there wasting a shirt. Bedeau looked all the more confident playing alongside professionals who can support him and give him proper instructions.

With Eisa in his proper position and van Veen creating magic up front I had some confidence in creating an opportunity for once. Shame Loft’s acrobatics didn’t pay off, but I am not grumbling.

Happiest day for a long while as a Scunny fan.

Phew. Got away with it with Clarke. Brilliant – put minutes into his legs.

Great goal + super assist from big Kev. A 90 minute man from hereon in.

    Intelligent tactics.

    No player under a six.

    Brown cruised through the 90+.

Real promise from Loft, Spence and Beestin.

Not just the white shirts that made me think iFollow had the wrong feed.

Team playing 442 with players in their actual positions.

Shots on target and no comedy gold defending.

Well done to all. Same again Tuesday please.

Read that as “from heroin”! Wondered how he got through 80 minutes.

Lucky white kit? Shame we can’t wear it at PV on Tuesday.

I am starting to wish I was still keeping records on referee marks.
What a wretched bunch they have been this season.
Bottling that sending off; clearest penalty of the season – not given; a host of namby pamby decisions.
So many free kicks given for nothing or next to nothing. As they say – “It’s a man’s game!”

Such a massive difference having a bit of experience in the team and playing a simple 4-4-2 where everyone knew what there job was. Bedeau & Onariase fantastic, Beestin fantastic, big Kev fantastic. Definitely has the makings of a decent spine!

First 30 minutes we would’ve folded in previous games; players stuck with their shape and grew into the game well. Shows what abit of experience gets you too; Onarisie and Brown were superb at the back. Thought Clarke looked massively off the pace but just heard he only trained yesterday, so fair play to him for having the bottle to get Involved straight away, he’ll only get better.

Eisa, Gillead and Beestin impressed; no idea why they didn’t double up on Eisa second half? Van Veen proved what the difference is at this level, those moments of magic which can turn a game which we have been desperately missing. Great finish for the 2nd.

Only complaint today is that we need to stop letting teams get easy crosses in the box, on another day Oldham would’ve scored from one and it seems to be a recurring problem.

Overall though a relieved Iron fan tonight!

    It’s an easy game really:-
    Best players in
    Best positions using
A simple system they all understand and are suited to.
    More of the same please.

I always feel that the contribution made by Spence can pass under a lot of people’s radars.

    I agree

Breaks up play.Plays the simple pass, that just about always finds his man. Undervalued.

And we won a match without any loan players in the team. Cox and Swann both said the season starts on Saturday (a bit late of course), but let’s hope these players with McGahey get and stay fit. Hopefully this match wasn’t a one off success.

He’s going to be a very good player. Him and Beestin could work quite nicely.

I’ve got a feeling McGahey might go in January, hope I’m wrong but even with a hamstring injury that was on the mend a while ago, he has been out for a long time. Too long IMO.
