    And then there were three!

One of only three survivors in L2, which makes a win even more important.

Not sure we have the ammunition to score goals so the best I think we can hope for is yet another draw.

I’ll even put my pessimist’s hat on and say they’ll edge it 1 or 2 nil!

    Not confident.

Problem is NI until we get that first win under Hill there will be a lack of confidence amongst us all due to all the other shite that has gone on in the last few seasons, however out comes my neck and I will go for a 2-0 away win because we do look a much better side under this current manager. Come on Iron its time we got that win.

It would be handy to know who’s fit and what sort of team we might put out. Strangely the Club don’t seem to think us fans would be interested in that sort of news. Shop opening times is much more their thing.

Obvious hoping for a much needed first Iron win with Mr Hill at the helm .. but the hosts must be favs as it seems they have the ability to put the round thing in the net .. where as we dont .. they scored 5 last time out agai st the side currently toppa the league …when did Scunny last score 5 ???
Real.6 pointer .. tho another draw come 90 mins is my prediction
Btw ..are the high number of postps due to omicron or the weather or both ?

The weather and Covid restrictions are worse in Scotland and all their games are on!

Read into that what you will.

    Scored 5 against FG?
Sounds like they’ve used up their quota for 2021.

    Where’s Wood and Scrimshaw?
    Loft benched.

    Interesting.

It’s hardly a line-up which has experience with one another in positions played.
It’s like the first team to play together for 90 minutes in the pre-season friendlies.

    To Ryan Loft.

I was one of many who said we wanted shot of you. Sorry Geeze, keep playing like you did for 45 minutes today. 2 goals and 1 assist.

Impressive second half. Loft was great and must start next time. Hippolyte my man of the match and it’s amazing how much more of a player he has become this season. Bunn impressed too. So there’s hope!

Hippo (customary excellence), Bunn (class act), and Green (best game at the club) – 8
    Loft – 9
Nobody below a 6 – and not that many 6s, either!

Brilliant result; such a relief to see out of the bottom 3 aswell.

Hill is working minor miracles since he’s been here: players actually look fit (which is a joke when that’s an expectation) and great to see us go for the 3rd and kill a game off.

I watched it on tv and Loft made a big difference, scored 2 and hit the bar with another effort.

Well done Keith and the lads, they started well, then it was even up to half time, and we then had full control of the second half, and really deserved the three points, but Oldham are a bloody poor team, and look likely relegation fodder. My assessment of the team today:-

WATSON—7—Played very well and looked to be in charge of his area, could have done better probably with their goal, and looked rooted when it floated over.
    O’MALLEY—6—Played well enough.
TAFT—5–Very shakey, and also poor work when they scored, not safe in defence.
ONARIASE—7—Once more very solid in defence, appears to be very dependable.
    ROWE—5—Had a quiet game today.
PUGH—5—Also has played a lot better and should have scored a goal.
HIPPOLYTE—8—My MOM today and seems to have gained a lot of self confidence these days.
HACKNEY—6—Had a very good second half.
GREEN—6—Had some nice quick runs, but his shooting and final ball lets him down.
JARVIS–5–Very poor today and it was correct to sub him at half time.
BUNN–6—Did a lot of good link up work, but his shooting was poor, plays well with Loft.
LOFT—8—Brought on at half time and was him that changed things, well played!!

REF—8—Got most things correct, but allowed far too much time wasting.

HILL—9—Has got the lads a lot fitter than numb nuts before him, and is getting the best out of the players, better style of setting up the team, and is certainly the “dog wagging the tail”, the team still have a chance of staying up under Keith Hill, under Cox we were doomed.

SUPPORTERS—9—Nice to see so many fans getting behind the team, and making the noise they provided.

FUTURE—–A couple of home wins against Northampton and the vital game against Carlisle would make a vastt difference to our league position, and with this new found spirit, this can happen!!!!, so once again, well done today!!!

Loft was doubtful to make the bench on Friday he hadn’t trained all week by RH on Friday, great to see a win and the Miles Hippolyte of late that Chris Dagnall was praising when interviewed about his time with him at Yeovil and life with Keith Hill.

We were by far the best team, even in the first half.
Massive credit to Keith Hill, the football today was progressive and forward thinking yet every player tracked back and defended brilliantly.
Loft gave us the edge we missed in the first half when he came on… on his day he’s absolutely brilliant.
Really enjoyed the game and we’ve moved off the bottom and out of the bottom 2… that’s got to be a massive boost for the lads.
    Merry Christmas
