Keith Hill is no better than any other manager we have had in the last 5 years.

    He’s no worse either though.

How can you judge anyone properly trying (and inevitably failing) to sort out this Swann inspired shambles?

The trouble is that some people make no allowances for bad situations.
Let me put it another way.
Let us imagine that you have a team which has four or five players each with a heavy plaster cast on an arm.
Now when that team loses – do we blame the manager? – If so – then why?

On a similar line, Nuttall had minimal support again today. Some neat touches first half and worked hard but took stick from supporters.
Every single time we have a lonely young striker leading the line – we pillory him. We have fans undermining confidence. Do we never learn?

Absolutely no point in “supporting” Nuttall, we lump the ball forward 50 times per game and he never holds on to one of them.

Every post match is the same rubbish !

He questions efforts of some players but he picks the same ones every week. The jan window recruits fit our recruitment model of past seasons – lower than average.

I give all managers the opportunity to prove me right or wrong – Mr Hill has been a great disappointment. The last 10 matches in league football should have been an opportunity to capture the imagination of the fans. To start to get them back, boost season ticket sales and what have they been served ? Pathetic, boring football and post match interviews that treat fans with contempt.

People in charge gave up and they are in for a shock in the conference it is going be tough.

I honestly think we’d have more points now if Cox remained in charge.

Have to say I thought KH was gonna be the man who’d aave us. Right credentials in L1 & L2, talks really well, has a structured plan that he assures does work. Things picked up a bit when the team got fit. Jan window was hugely underwhelming (clearly budget restrictions), but I think (??!) KH’s players. Been crap since. Not all Keith’s fault, but overall I’m a bit disappointed to say the least. In fact I’ve given up hope.

i was pleased when Hill came on board .. he offered hope ..but in reality he has just joined the list of really crap managers the club have had in recent years … i was a fan of Laws , Adkins and Alexander ..all else have been dross, statts n records dont lie and Hill, Coxs’ are the poorest hence we are going out the football league and make no mistake it could be for decades …worse still into admin and out of business.

A generation or two may never see the Iron play in the league again .. thats very sad

If you are payed to do what the chairman wants and to take you down what can he do.
WHY DOSE ANY OF THE MANAGERS DO NOT SPEAK OUT. Seems very strange.
Maybe a pay off to not talk.

Time for ex manages to speak up

He’s useless. No better than Cox, with his own January players. Another shocker.

I think he’s been a massive disappointment. His record is considerably worse than Cox’s! How is that even possible? None of his new signings look any good, he sounds completely disconnected in every interview and the team appears to have given up after the Oldham away win. It’s shocking and he should be on his way with the rest of the players in the summer.

    Compare and contrast:

    Keith Hill P26, W2, D7, L17

    Nick Daws, P25, W10, D10, L5

One is apparently the right man to take us forward next season, the other was sacked in August of his first season in charge.

But is it results or the level of complience that gets a manager the sack?

    This is all a jockey/horse or F1 car/driver scenario.

Does anyone seized of sound mind think any manager could have kept us up this season?

You can talk about tactical set up, you can talk about training routines, you can talk about motivation – but the reality is that if you have 11 clowns on the park you can be an absolute magician – but you’ve still got 11 clowns.

The impact of a manager is usually marginal – and where you finish as a side is at least 95% influenced by budget.

That’s why the Premiership table (barring once in a blue moon) looks exactly the same year in year out no matter who is in charge of any particular club.

Pep or Klopp couldn’t have kept us up this year on this budget – although maybe we’d be sat on 25 or 26 points rather than 24.

Daws has a better record than recent incumbents but look at the players at the club now compared to then – you don’t even have to go back that far, just look at the squad 12 months ago compared to now!

Hill could have made a better fist of it in my opinion. He has been a major disappointment to date as far as I am concerned.

You would think the managers trying 38 different players this season it would have been enough to get a decent team together, and considering Rory was a shoe in for most, the managers have been piss poor with there picks.

I get what you’re saying – you’d think there’s be an upside somewhere for us!!

But, out of those 38, who (disregarding those who have been sold by our glorious leader of course during the course of events) haven’t played that many games when they could – who would have made any kind of significant difference?

As far as I can see there hasn’t been that 20 goal a season man lurking in the wings, or that rock solid defender who can’t get a game, or that creative midfielder parked on the bench.

All I can see is a load of crappy cards just being frantically shuffled backwards and forwards.

Wind back a year and check out how many posts were saying something along the lines of… “it doesn’t matter who the manager is, it’s the chairman that’s the problem”.

As far as those supporters were concerned the appointment was more in hope than expectation.

I get what you’re saying and we all know where the ultimate blame lies but after nearly 30 games, do we really even know what Hill’s preferred formation is? Why was Scrimshaw sent back so readily and replaced with someone infinitely poorer like Pyke?
