Club soundbite—- ” we are confident Marcus Carver can step up and fill the void left by Joe Nuttall ” and blah blah blah.

NL is a step up for Carver which, maybe, he could make.
However, we do not have the time to find out.
We need a Jon Parkin. Trouble is that getting one – you’d probably have to bring in someone well over 34 – and we all know the dangers of that.

The return of Jordan Hallam very soon will surely help us climb the table.

Two matches won’t allow us to climb far and we’ll be lucky if we get two.

Agreed. No one will come in.
One or two of the youth forwards promoted to the bench.

The reality is the fee received will pay December’s wages.

Some more from the U18’s will join the squad as Lavery & Nthle are out of contract I think in January.

Wage bill be trimmed that bit more.

Is Lavery worth a deal to the end of the season?, if we remain in business of course.

Need to be scouring local level football for a young gem to polish as per the policy in early 80s when times were tough

Lavery looks decent in a poor team.

The reason I opted for Parkin was coz he’s the type of player you can build a team around. His influence covered forwards and midfield – always back for set pieces. Tough. Could be a bit mean.
