Surprise, Surprise. Despite Big Keef stating the reason he was subbed the other day was down to a tight calf, he’s now saying it’s tender/painful and he’s due for a scan. Only a 6 month contract but still a waste as we’re a LB down.
I don’t know who’s worse, him or Hallam.
It appears we have the only 2 players in the whole of the football league that are seemingly held together with cellotape.
Also it appears that we’re stuck with Super Keef as he’s happy working with Peter Swann.

August 24, 2022 at 8:20 pm #243451And why throw more money on a scan?
August 24, 2022 at 10:13 pm #243453Was it a calf injury that caused him to miss so many games at Barrow?, he played only 27 games for them in two seasons.
August 24, 2022 at 11:08 pm #243454We’d have been better off signing Paul Calf!

August 25, 2022 at 1:07 pm #243484Are we going to have a forum sweepstake on how long he’s going to be out for ?
August 25, 2022 at 1:24 pm #243485Are you starting one?

Or Pauline
August 25, 2022 at 7:46 pm #243501I’m thinking about it. The winner will hopefully get to spend an unforgettable, action packed evening with Swannster.

Fairly sure it’s known as a duty of care.
August 25, 2022 at 8:20 pm #243503Oh, scan!
Thought it said scam.
August 26, 2022 at 8:44 am #243518Remember that Graham Taylor documentary when he was England manager? One of the bits I always remember from that was during a game at Wembley when someone behind the bench was abusing John Barnes and Taylor turned round and said “hey, you’re talking about another human being, so just watch what you say”. Very much to Taylor’s credit and something I reckon a few on here could do with remembering.
Next time fans start bleating about player loyalty when someone wants to leave, remember the likes of WG who would happily cut a player adrift as soon as they get an injury.

Hallam has been persistently injured since he’s been here. Nthle for the past 4 seasons has been plagued by injury, was injured in pre season and 1st 45 mins back is injured yet again.
Ferrite, we’re not talking about war horses here that have picked isolated injuries. Not in a position to carry passengers and there’s no honour in being a simpleton in trying to make out it benefits us having them on our books.
You ask any sane fan of SUFC if they would like to keep Hallam and Nthle here over players who would be able to stay fit and actually contribute and see what response you get.
August 26, 2022 at 3:21 pm #243547You are correct WG but that does not excuse anonymous personal abuse on social media.
With very few exceptions football players do not get injured on purpose and there is a fair element of luck involved in the amount and scale of injuries they get.
Having said that both Hallam and Nthle must have doubts they can get fit enough to continue as professional footballers given the repetitive nature of their injuries.
I have sympathy for them both. However, they do have contracts which have to be paid up should they leave so it is not as simple as getting rid of the pair and using the salary for replacements.

August 26, 2022 at 4:01 pm #243550Ntlhe has a poor injury record recently, probably why he only got a 6 month deal, understandable. Hallam had been here for 2 years, was injured most of the time but still got another 2 year deal, unbelievable!!

August 26, 2022 at 6:56 pm #243554Was interesting listening to the Arsenal doctors on All or Nothing saying how a medical is less of a physical procedure and more a risk assessment. So how Hallam and Ntlhe faired in these risk assessments to then still be awarded contracts baffles me…unless they’re on pay-as-you-play deals but I highly doubt that’s the case.

August 26, 2022 at 6:57 pm #243555Quite relieved he’s only got an injury after reading the sordid newspaper headline!

Referring to a player as a “crock” when he’s persistently injured isn’t abuse. I’m merely stating a fact. I know they aren’t getting injured on purpose but it still doesn’t change the fact that we’re using resources on players who aren’t contributing.
I have sympathy for the pair of them but we can ill afford to carry passengers, especially we’re we are as a club.
As for people who really abuse players, I agree they’re morons and it’s not needed.
August 26, 2022 at 8:23 pm #243561I was not suggesting you were the source of the social media abuse WG.
August 27, 2022 at 12:09 pm #243579It’s not the players with recurring injuries that are the problem. It’s the people who sign them to our Club and then like Hallam give him a further two year deal when he has only managed to play a handful of games, coming on mainly just as a substitute, whilst he has been with our Club. Also why sign Nthle with his injury record when our finances are virtually nil and we are desperate for a consistent left-back. We can’t blame the players It’s our useless manager and useless previous Chairman and recruitment staff.

August 29, 2022 at 9:14 am #243809They’re still people, ffs. If you want to get angry with someone, get angry with the club for signing them, with the physio department for not being able to get to the bottom of their injuries. Players don’t get injured on purpose, it must be really depressing to be in the situation of someone like Hallam who has probably worked really hard to be a professional footballer and got to close to realising his dream but every time he takes one step forward his body takes three backwards.
