Green, last season, showed glimpses of lightning pace but I have not seen this for a good while now – reckon something has happened to him and his pace has gone. No use to the team without it

Last season there were times where he looked like grease lightning. Haven’t seen that at all yet this season…either something must be up, or League 2 defenders have gotten a lot quicker.

Seems Wood and Hackney will play no matter what. That is based on Mr Cox’s post match interview with Mike White that they haven’t come to sit on the the bench !!

Yet again another player Tom Pugh having helped out as a temporary RB despite having 1 in Rowe (baffling). Then settling in midfield and showing what he is capable in his own position deserving of the shirt and surprise surprise – he gets dropped. Yet some of last seasons mediocrity get in no matter what.

Certainly some strange decisions and tactics from Mr Cox, but he’s the one paid to make them and it will be his head that rolls if the team fails.

There hasn’t been any evidence of exciting attacking football which he purported when he arrived, he’s very much safety first and very wary of the opposition who ever they are, he doesn’t seem confident that we are better than anyone, it’s quite concerning with him at the helm.

    Fast forward twelve months…

“We’ve been keeping an eye on how Weymouth like to play, and have set ourselves up to try and counter that”

Makes it easy for the opposition too, this is how we play so this what Scunthorpe will do to counter it. Get a grip Neil and let the other team worry about us for a change. Old school 2-3-5 on Saturday and see what they make of that!

Defo needs to worry less about others and let them worry about us, ATTACK ATTACK ATTACK.

It’s almost as if Wilcox is still around.

Question – is he really that pacey?

It’s a really good question. I’m not so sure he is.

Matt—-no matter how fast a player is, he must have the basic football skills at the very least, I am affraid that Green has no ball control whatsoever, he cannot beat a defender simply because he has not got the basic skills to place the ball past a defender and then use his so called speed, his passing is terrible, and how many times has he been seen to fluff simple chances. In other words, he is not and never will be a professional footballer, the same can be said for Hippolyte and Turan, all three should have been binned, but Cox appears to have some hope in Green and Hiipolyte, because he keeps picking them, thats one reason that we have ONE WIN IN SEVENTEEN MATCHES,a bloody pathetic record that still keeps him in a job, like selecting Green, there may be a reason for Cox still being employed, and relegation almost a certainty.

Vadar—-Although I agree with what you are saying except one point of yours, you say that “if the team fails, it will be Coxes head that rolls”, but don’t you think that wit one win in our last seventeen matches, this could almost be classed as a big failure” ????, Swann has sacked many managers with far better records than Cox, in fact NONE of them had anywhere near Coxs record of results, and the abillity to get rid of fans, by getting his teams to serve up shite every week.

Granted he’s only played in 1 game but he’s appears to want far too much time on ball and isn’t the biggest physically. Hackney should have come off at half time in all honesty, it was like playing with 9 men at times, never got into the game and didn’t offer much at all.

Blimey, it seems like only 4 or 5 days ago that you were telling me how good a player he was and how it made great sense to play him ahead of all of our own players. How times change.

No mate it is not like Wilcox is still around, simply because we did win a few games, or at least draw many, with this clown it is usually defeat after defeat, and boring defensive defeats at that, but Swann seems to like him for some reason?????????

“I suspect he’ll be a luxury player at this level. Hackney will probably end up being one of those types who would do well in top end league 1 and championship but seriously struggle at this kind of level.”

I never said he was a bad player at all hence why I have suspicions that he’d do well much higher up. I just have concerns that he may not adapt to this kind of level of football.

Nice to know you picked that section out without including the other part which fully explained my reasoning.

Nothing like a selective cut and past job ferrite.

    Bravo.

What do I care about how he plays for other clubs? I cannot understand any reason for picking him over Pugh on Saturday and it seems that your assessment backs that up.

How would I even be able to give that assessment if we hadn’t have got game time ?. It looked to me that his game will suit it’s self to much higher up though where he will get more time on the ball.

One big thing Hackney did struggle with is the physicality. I think Hackney may need to be drip fed into this league by giving him minutes here and there to get him used to it.

I will go nuts if he’s chosen ahead of Perry because Beestin is a shoe-in and Wood after that showing can’t be dropped, surely ?

Wood looked a much better player than Pugh and Hippolyte on that performance, looked really promising.

Perry, Beestin and Wood will be strong in midfield. I just hope Hackney doesn’t become one of those which gets a game no matter what because I think Perry is the much better player.

I agree it’s shame of Pugh because he’s certainly not a RB. Harsh reality is though he isn’t as good as Beestin or Wood. Perry has the passing ability we need in there as well.

Had the two deadline day loans been a forward and a winger, I suspect we’d not be having this conversation.

Ah but did we fail to win because of the new signings or despite them?

I refer you to my earlier post on this thread repeated below, it was ever thus:-

Big test for Cox this Saturday because, unlike in recent weeks, he has options and we won the last match. Who gets in out of Scrimshaw, Wood, Perry & Hackney and who misses out? Good luck Neil, if we lose then, as far as some Bruers are concerned, you’ll have picked the wrong team for sure!
