We all knew signing unfit match players and expecting them to hit the ground running was always going to be a big ask.

Feeney looked like he was blowing out of his arse, Sinclair was knackered, Delaney looked rusty, Grant looked good but you could tell he wasn’t match fit and Nuttall looked miles off it. Pyke though looked much fitter as he had more game time than the others and it showed, he looked pretty good.

I don’t blame any of them though. Nuttall for instance hasn’t played 90 minutes in a little over 2 years. I would imagine he’s going to take at least 5 or 6 matches to even get up to speed and then we’re going to have to careful in case we push him too hard and he breaks down.

Swann not paying off the loan and ending that embargo caused this because the market was so small Hill had to sign these players who hadn’t had minutes because they were the only one’s available to us.

By the time these get fully up to speed there will only be just over 10 games left. Too late in the day now.

Matheson needs drafting back in. Millen reminded me how slack he was.
