Today showed we have no depth whatsoever.
Once Butterfield and Apter leave in January we’re in big trouble. Needing to score 2 or 3 goals a game to get any result because we’re garbage at the back and don’t play a holding midfielder normally
Please please please bin off this 5 at the back 🫣
Worst thing is we’re stuck with daws while Swann is here and that could be months and months…

October 15, 2022 at 6:57 pm #246793We are three short in the squad, when those two leave that’s five short, tell us something we don’t know and yes it’s all Swanns fault, we know that too.
October 15, 2022 at 8:12 pm #246803Didn’t play five at the back today.
Boyce and Ntlhe comfortable at CB, Ogle LB, Rowe RB until he went off then Ogle RB and O’Malley LB.
The problem was what was in front of them because the midfield were all over the place. Whitehouse looks to be unfit and carrying a bit of weight. Beestin and Gallimore got dragged all round the pitch and Wilson not playing as an out and out winger.
Lavery looked tired and Nuttall didn’t put himself about as much as the Shields #9.
Daniel should have been brought on sooner, but even then what was the game plan?
We need a proper management and coaching set up but under the present regime we know this is unlikely to happen. Prepare for further frustrations.

October 15, 2022 at 8:21 pm #246805Again we have done nothing second half after creating chances first half, strange because when we beat Dorking it was the other way round

October 15, 2022 at 8:48 pm #246807There’s no depth to how far we will continue to sink.
The Mariana Trench couldn’t handle it.2 users thanked author for this post.
October 15, 2022 at 9:03 pm #246809This is all down to Swann dragging us into the mire and let non of us forget that, it’s all his doing where we are now. Things won’t change until he sells up. At the last forum Leanne Mayo, Swanns mouthpiece, stated that whatever division we are in we have to be self-sustainable. With Swann here that will never happen as hundreds of fans are staying away because of him. What has happened to our club should never be allowed and there should be legalities in place to stop it.

October 15, 2022 at 9:22 pm #246812The squad and management is threadbare, we have a squad barely capable in NLN. I don’t know what to think anymore, do I prepare for life without football because this owner isn’t going to sell and he isn’t going to put any money in, nothing stopping him taking money out – we’ve hit the iceberg its just a question of when to abandon ship.

October 16, 2022 at 4:22 am #246825I get it, IA.
I’m now trying to develop that sense of detachment that I can usually put together to get me through whenever I have to attend a particularly tough funeral.1 user thanked author for this post.
October 16, 2022 at 6:56 am #246826Same Les, trying to deal with the palliative position of the club is very hard but need to prepare for the disappearance of the club.

After a while it doesn’t matter as much.3 users thanked author for this post.
October 16, 2022 at 9:00 am #246828Already doing that. It helps a bit.
October 16, 2022 at 10:16 am #246837Not only has Swann dessimated our Club, but if he ends up taking the lot and we no longer exist he will also be guilty of taking away the community aspect from our town and damaging Scunthorpe as a town in my opinion.

October 16, 2022 at 10:18 am #246838Quote from a fan yesterday: “i’ve got 2 more away games booked and then i’m going to think about what i do with the rest of my saturdays”. That from a well known fan too.

October 16, 2022 at 10:22 am #246839Been an iron supporter all my life and I went missing when kids grew up and moved away, but it’s still in your blood.Always listened to match and followed going on,s at club. It’s something you can’t shake off. Started going again late last season and this, you can’t beat live football, the crunching tackle, off the ball incidents and the goals from either side. We are all budding managers and chairman at heart and have different views, but if you liked the live game instead of watching the premadonnas on Tv, bite the bullet and return you would enjoy it. I liken it to a good old fashioned fourth division match at the old show ground ,although maybe not the best way of advertising it.Remember you will be in a box longer than you have time to watch the iron.
It’s in your blood it will never go away

October 16, 2022 at 2:31 pm #246861It was a good effort from the supporters with 400 turning up yesterday.
Can’t fault that at all.

October 16, 2022 at 4:58 pm #246862The club is heading for extinction. If £6 million is the required amount to buy the club then it is all over and the EGO will not bat an eye lid.
October 17, 2022 at 12:13 pm #246878How much money do the Swanns really have? When he left Gainsborough Trinity it was said he wrote the debt off which they owed. He has race horses and apparently owns the hotel at Blackpool. So why is he determined to take everything away from Scunthorpe United which we own and in doing so destroy our Club and in doing so badly affect our town. C’mon Swann if you have an ounce of decency let the buyers in and clear off.

October 17, 2022 at 1:16 pm #246882Self preservation that’s why, the Iron will be sacrificed in order to keep enough funds in the family coffers, would not expect anything less TBH, it’s always about survival and personal survival will always outweigh any other consideration IMO.
October 17, 2022 at 2:01 pm #246889Especially if your not even a fan of the club.

October 18, 2022 at 8:20 am #246927The Hotel in Blackpool seems to be the cause of all his problems.
Apparently no where near finished. Is work even still in progress on it ?
Swann playing with takeover ! Has he any intention of accepting a bid ?
Don’t think we we need to worry about the Team as I doubt we will have a Club before to long. -
