Vanarama National League North Team of the Season
    Jas Singh (Tamworth)
    Matt Curley (Tamworth)
    Jordan Cullinane-Liburd (Tamworth)
    Mark Ellis (Chorley)
    Tyler Denton (Scunthorpe United)
    Jacob Butterfield (Scunthorpe United)
    Isaac Buckley-Ricketts (Warrington Town)
    Morgan Roberts (Brackley Town)
    Justin Johnson (Chorley)
    Paul Blackett (South Shields)
    Danny Whitehall (Scunthorpe United)

Should we be looking at the guys from Warrington & South Shields? You’d think they ought to fall within our reduced playing budget.

Interesting the play off finalists only got 1 player between them.

Wonder how many will pitch up at Wembley for the National League final. The average home attendance for the finalists added together is less than our average in the league below.

Bromley have sold over 15,000. There’s a huge catchment there and eventually they’ll probably end up being an established EFL side.

I doubt we’d get Blackett, didn’t he score close to 30 goals ?. We may have more chance with Ricketts. I’d go for Connor Hall he scored 9 goals for Brackley while on loan from Solihull Moors. Good age at 26yrs of age and think he’s out of contract come end of the season.

If we could get Blackett I’d be over the moon though. I remember him being as fast as hell. Playing style, he’s like a pound shop Jamie Vardy.

I think, for the player it could depend on their ambition, they’re more likely to move up the leagues with us than their current clubs. For our club the consideration will be financial:-
Are the players in contract? As you say SS might want silly money for Blackett if he is.
Are the players FT or PT? If they are PT with well paid jobs we might not be able to match their total wage, will ambition to be a FT footballer bridge the gap? If they’re FT we must be in with a chance.
I’d just like to think we, at least, asked the questions.
(BTW didn’t Jamie Vardy used to be a pound shop Michael Owen? That worked out OK for him.)

Is that the Jamie Vardy that Alan Knill said was no better than the forwards we already had when he could have signed him from Halifax.

In his defence we did have Bobby Grant and Jordan Robertson so was he wrong??

Bobby Grant was never the same after leaving Brookside.

From an informed third party – I know that AK really liked Vardy’s play but not a number of his attitudes. I truly have no idea what was meant.

I did get detail, however, when Alick Jeffrey was released by Donny, I asked Jack Brownsword if we’d be in for him. He said ” We can take the boozing but not him taking half the players with him’.

Denton surprises me – from what I have seen he looks reasonably solid & reliable but nothing spectacular.
