There’s no doubting those odds. Tamworth will get put to the sword and HMS piss the league will be well and truly in it’s stride.

I do have a good feeling this season with the squad that’s been put together. This is one of those seasons in quite a long time when you can go down the list of players and not pick out one which is deadweight/making up the numbers.

Still think we’re a striker short but other than that we’re pretty much spot on.

The present Scunny team that has been assembled must be clealy well fancied to really walk this league and make a start into their treck back into the football leage where they should be.

The team is putting the effort into their performances, the management and coachING team appear to have listened to the fans, and the club top management are also assebling a good team of directors, and have dumped the one man band disater operated for the past six or seven years.

I am just hoping that the Stadium problem that i still a big threat to the clubs chances does not spoil the present progress that is now being shown.

Good luck to SUFC and its fans, lets hope for enjoyable times to return to our loved club.

Nice to see you back , hope you had a nice holiday, anywhere nice ?? , in some ways i do share your optimism and agree the squad assembled does have quality in depth … alas with the many unknown teams involved including not to be underestimated Tamworth this ” HMS piss the league” may be harder to achieve than you are predicting ..hope im wrong and we win at a cantor this Saturday .. after my cock on Burton score prediction accuracy seems the super computer is following my earlier 1-1 prediction.

    They are seldom wrong.
Proof? – Well how many times have you ever seen an impecunious bookmaker?

I presume the bookies have factored in the idea there is a good chance we will see the season out before going bust then 🤔

To be fair to Pugh, Rance and Sembie-Ferris we have never seen them play in a decent side yet.

We have managed to make some pretty decent players look poor these last 5 years.

Giving a contract to Pugh and Rance was baffling

I wouldn’t be lumping on at those odds. Too much going on that could derail the season IMO

Very sensible advice SST.. im finding the bookies odds on SUFC a tad strange bearing in mind the current limbo the club is in .. so many permutations that could change things massively…plus there are some very decent teams in NLN that should not be taken lightly.

Wasn’t Richgy saying on another thread a few weeks back that the cods had done some decent recruitment this summer and were looking to build on last season’s reasonable league return position this time around? If so maybe the Scunny/ Cods double wouldn’t be so clever after all, unless you go for double promotions.

I think the bookies odds make sense from their point of view. They’d be crazy to offer better odds in the eventuality the club finish the season and they have to pay out more. Poor odds offered in the light of uncertainty gives them more protection.

The Cods have signed a few decent players but had a pretty mediocre pre season .. compounded by quite a few injuries to key players… take away the fact they are Scunnys biggest rival n purely on a footballing basis i would rather put money on them to go down than up.

Big parties in Codsville tonight as the new roof is finished on BP shed even though the roofers got “battered” by the summer rain.

    Played one, won one.

The bookies react by further shortening our odds.

Seems the young Chester manager (speaks very well when interviewed) agrees with the bookies odds 30 seconds in to his post match vid.

So Tamworth were 40/1 at the start of the season. Even the bookmakers had no clue. Hindsight would be such a wonderful thing, aye…
