I’ve seen a lot of players come and go over the 46 years of supporting The Iron. Some have been gifted, some showed glimpses, some were too slow with not much skill. Not many of them looked ready to fight like hell for the club and the Shirt (alright maybe Bish).

What we need, imo, for next years challenge is a team full of scrappers. Eleven Bishops would be great! Tippy tappey stuff, even our wonderful hoofball tactics will not work, the other basement dwellers will run all over us.

So come on Dean old chap, get some big and nasties in. We’re going to need em.

A solid defence, box to box grafters and two 20+ goals a season strikers will get you out of the lower leagues.

Would win you a place into the Premiership too TBF. 😂

11 Bishops? Jeez, I would not pay to watch that team. Most over-rated player in Scunthorpe’s history.

Jim Goodwin I’d say. Overpaid mouth on legs, last seen making a complete hash of the Aberdeen job.

Thinking we need ’11 Bishops’ underestimates the technical skills and abilities some players possess at regional level. Some of the decent and flourishing sides I’ve seen have a good balance and mix of big solid central defenders, full backs with pace / good crossing, one midfield general and skillful attacking midfielders / striker goal machines to complement. Plus a commanding experienced keeper

    Nah! That’s Fansy’s bag!

Re: 11 Bishops (which sounds like the first line of a joke), if you think Bish was the only player to give 100% since the Championship days you’ve got selective memory.

Stephen Dawson was another midfield general but it’s a shame he picked up so many niggling injuries.

That sounds like every requirement needed for every level of football. Going by that we don’t need much then, do we ?

Nice to see Matty Lund score a 97th minute winner at Walsal and give a really good interview after the final whistle … how we could do with him in our side and that goes for many others who have left SUFC over the years for whatever reason upping their game and careers..for my sins i do follow ex players still in the lower leagues even though it means squinting through my claret n blue glasses at the likes of Stockport and Bradford etc.

Godden still knocking them in for Mark Robbins’s Coventry.

Looking good for a playoff spot. Another ex Iron striker to feature in the PL perhaps?

KvV getting the equaliser at Celtic Park yesterday. His 24th of the season.

Ivan Toney 3rd highest scorer in the PL.

    Sigh!
