No, not the far east ladyboys but the NLN table.
On paper, Tamworth have the easier game away at Warrington on Saturday. Ours is tougher against Hereford.
We don’t want to go four points behind them early in December.
I think the next two months will make or break our season.

I wonder how many of their 1,000 Home supporters will travel.January 6, 2024 at 8:07 pm #278918They’ve nipped to the top and have us tucked under their hoof.
Wool they end up as Champions?January 10, 2024 at 8:43 pm #279079Jesus.
If Brackley & Tamworth both beat us and Scarborough take all 9 points from their Sat – Tues – Sat schedule… then they’ll be level on points with us.13/01 Farsley v Boro

Andy Grove. We are less than the sum of our parts.
With our budget, squad, player wages, stadium (maybe it should be more ‘intimidating’ for teams to come and play at GP) and level of support – we should be dominating this league.
2-0 (four occasions) is our must frequent score.
1-0 and 1-1 are joint second most frequent on three occasions.
For me, we don’t kill games off.
In 18 of our 26 games, we’ve either won or lost by no more than 2 goals or drawn on 18 occasions from 26 games.
70% of our games are tight, nervy affairs… where so far, we have managed to win more than we’ve lost.
Of those 18 tight games (scorelines with a differential of +|- 2 goals) here’s our performance:
P18 W9 D6 L3 Pts 33 Potential Pts 54
Of those six drawn games:
Scun 1-1 P Sports (0-0 HT) – we conceded 81st min equaliser.
Alfreton 2-2 Scun (1-2 HT) – Scales off in 6th min. Conceded 55th min equaliser.
Led twice in game.
Ten men for nearly an entire game!Chorley 1-1 Scun (0-1 HT) – conceded 47 min equaliser.
Boston 1-1 Scun (0-0 HT) – conceded 85th min equaliser.
Buxton 0-0 Scun
Scun 2-2 Boston (2-1 HT) – conceded 90+1 min equaliser.
Led twice in game.On average we score our first goal in the 31st minute (home & away)
On average we concede our first goal in the 45th minute.
At Home, on average we concede in the 49th minute.
Away, on average we concede in the 42 minute.
We seem very vulnerable 5 minutes before and after half time and in the last 10 minutes of games.
3 of those 5 drawn games listed above have seen equalisers scored in the 80th minute plus.“A little reconnaissance is butter than being ambushed”
Officer Crabtree; Allo Allo.January 11, 2024 at 9:57 am #27909316 times we have scored first and gone on to win the game.
5 times we have scored first and gone on to draw.
If we score first, we don’t lose.
3 times the opposition scored first and we went on to loose.
On one occasion the opposition scored first but we went on to win.
On one occasion it was a 0-0 draw.
From winning / losing positions we are 7 points in deficit.
Drew five games where we were leading.
(minus ten points)
Won one game, coming from behind.
(plus three points)We have to be alert for 90 minutes plus.
Play right up to the 45 plus X minutes!
Get at them at a high tempo from the 46th minute after HT.
Maintain the intensity from the 80th to the 90th plus X minute.
In fact, increase the intensity & tempo from the 80th minute to hopefully ‘punish’ the part timers.Easy to say – more difficult to achieve.
Knowing your (our) weaknesses can become a strength.
January 11, 2024 at 10:17 am #279095We don’t lose when Butterfield scores.
He’s netted 7 times in six games.
Of those six games:

Another way of looking at it could be that they’re having to strive to win games and only doing so late on – is that a sign of a club that is having to do everything to win a game and maybe it’s not sustainable for them in the mid-to-long run?

Officer Crabtree; Allo Allo.Another 2-0 score line.
Sadly, correctly predicted by myself.
In another thread, I said that Hall needed shackling. Couldn’t manage it could we Jimbob. The goals we conceded arrived with the punctuality of Deutsche Bahn AG, the German railway network.
Brackley Town 2-0 Scunthorpe
Gudger (47′)
Hall (50′)It wasn’t unexpected, I’d previously highlighted our defensive deficiencies and susceptibility to concede goals five minutes either side of half time. Brackley exposed our weakness.
What’s that old saying – ‘charity begins at home’
Our ‘analyst’ needs to forget about what the opposition may do and put our players, performances, stats and data under the microscope.A correct score, a named scorer and correctly predicted times of when we would concede – the info was served on a plate.
I’ll come and play RCB for us next week – show them how to do it!

January 24, 2024 at 12:39 am #279742On Saturday, if we lose at PB Sports and Scarborough win at Banbury, then they’ll leapfrog us in to second place.
We’ve 3 games in hand on them but we’d need to convert those to points.January 24, 2024 at 3:12 am #279743No doubt the lads will be rusty too. They’ve missed 2 games now and haven’t played a proper game since Brackley, and haven’t won a game since December 30th. 2 games in a row cancelled. Lots of training is fine, but they need real matches to keep up form.
January 24, 2024 at 4:57 am #279745Almost a mid winter break.

January 31, 2024 at 8:59 pm #280191More Hit & Run the way Tamworth are smashing everyone and running off with the title!
February 20, 2024 at 10:09 pm #281442Forget top.
There’s going to be one or two that nip in front of us and tuck us away in the 1/4 final play off positions. -
