Not beat them since 1987, playing shit, definitely my nap of the day, home win get your house on it.
January 22, 2022 at 1:45 pm #2301891-3 Newport.
At least most of our near rivals have difficult games too, so we ought not to drop any further back.
January 22, 2022 at 2:08 pm #230192That’ll be a Newport OG for us then?

January 22, 2022 at 2:25 pm #230195Six defenders in the starting lineup at home!
Pugh and Perry the midfield engine room?
Oh dear!
January 22, 2022 at 2:25 pm #230196The positive: 2-0 Scunny thanks to two lucky deflections and red cards/injuries.
The negative: Our last 3 pointer in the football league.
A lucky win gives PS an excuse to keep things as they stand.
January 22, 2022 at 3:52 pm #230197Can’t believe we’re not about 4-0 down, Watson keeping us in the game.
Absolute men against boys, it’s as if we’re playing against a Premier League team. None of these players are National League standard let alone League 2.

January 22, 2022 at 3:58 pm #230198Lucky for us it’s football not boxing. RSF 32 minutes.

January 22, 2022 at 5:28 pm #230206Watson was outstanding. The lad deserves a contract with a league club at the end of the year.
Not upset with the performances anymore, players seem to be still trying so that’s all I can ask for.
The Atmosphere is starting to turn nasty again and I suspect it will steadily get worse as the season progresses.

January 22, 2022 at 5:47 pm #230211That was the worse 90 min commentary I have ever listened to, not basing it on the the guys doing it, but the Scunthorpe team were so out played, and never looked likely to gain any points from the game. For the second match on the trot, Scunny never had even one shot on target, that is over three hours plus some of the game that ptreceeded these two matches, it is it is worse than being pathetic, and relegation was sealed today, now six points adrift, a far worse goal difference, and played a game more than others.
Swann says that the club have no money to pay off the loan, does he need reminding that this loan plus the £12 million other loss are direct results of his management of the club, he cannot still blame Covid or that supporters need to attend games, there is no valid reason to attend matches just to leave feeling sick to the back teeth of what our club has turned out to be.
I still think that in my opinion, Swann has driven the club to the point of administration and bankcrucey, which would make the vast ammount of land that his own company have now claimed ownership of, will be the final outcome of this sad situation, keeping Cox on worked a treat.

January 22, 2022 at 6:00 pm #230218Didn’t we have a penalty saved?as a shot on target
January 22, 2022 at 6:02 pm #230219Rory definitely man of the match.I thought we played better than I expected against a team who are close to the top.Main problem is we have no height up front,Burns looks lively but needs a big partner.

January 22, 2022 at 6:04 pm #230222First half totally outplayed by Newport and how we weren’t 3 or 4 down at half time I don’t know, though thanks to mom Watson. Second half better, can’t fault the effort, but these players, by & large, aren’t L2 standard. All game, zero goal threat. Midfield zero creativity and didn’t get about Newport in fact woefully lacking. Defence for me overworked but tried. Seems 2 coming in this week…… Staying up? Not a snowball’s chance in hell. Even with 4 or 5 in (and I mean seasoned players) it’s a big ask, 6 points adrift now.

January 22, 2022 at 6:32 pm #230234Hippolyte made a big difference when he came on, for awhile we pushed forward and second half we pushed up the pitch another 10 yards compared to the first where we just gave Newport the freedom of the park to do as they pleased. Clearly second best all afternoon and Watson was a bloody hero in goal, we are going down because we are toothless upfront and spend the majority of games just desperately defending. The Chairman’s interview on Humberside pre match was enough to make a genuine supporter physically sick, only the sycophants will nod their heads in agreement to his shallow and hollow words. Disgraceful behaviour from someone supposedly in charge and responsible.

Yes Pele, we did have a penalty saved, but do you really want to call it a shot on target, because he was not likely to have back healed it was he, although he might just as well have done!!!

January 23, 2022 at 12:15 am #2302832 shots on target according to official stats.
But if they don’t hit the back of the net it matters not a jot!
January 24, 2022 at 9:08 am #230363No idea how good Burns is because he was hardly ever within 40 yards of his team mates. No support at all.
Watson was superb, a couple of the first half saves were sensational.
Onarise, who everyone tells me is our best defender, was a liability once again, with a ludicrous tackle to concede the penalty.
The midfield was anonymous – Perry would probably look good in a decent team but he’s not the answer for us. Pugh & Rowe are far too similar and limited to play together. What’s happened to Kenyon? Where were Jarvis & Dunnwald-Turan? Why can’t Beestin get on the pitch even in circumstances like Saturday?

Manny is clear of Taft and Davis! Manny at least tackles and follows his marker. Taft/Davis are liabilities!
Perry wouldn’t get into a decent team though he’s so lightweight and barely offers anything!

How many penalties did Taft & Davis concede on Saturday? Not saying they’re better players than him but the fact that people see Onarise as an important player for this team sums up why we’re at the bottom of the division.
Perry can pick a pass, he just can’t offer anything off the ball.
