Watson
Matheson Onariase Delaney O’Malley
Grant
Feeney Pugh (maybe Beestin when fit but i like Pugh’s box to box qualities)
Sinclair
Pyke Nuttall
Compared to 1st match of the season (for reference)
Billson
Pugh Davis Taft Thompson
Bunn Kenyon Beestin Green
Loft O’Neill
Good signings from Big Keith yesterday, 18 cup finals, let’s go UTI!

February 1, 2022 at 1:46 pm #231162No place for Burns IL but start the two new lads up front. I would play Burns with one or the other but the rest look about right.

February 1, 2022 at 1:52 pm #231163O’Malley is injured I think.
Going to be an attacking line-up that is for sure because we actually have 2 strikers.
Watson
Matheson Onariase Delaney Lewis
Grant
Pugh Feeney Sinclair
Nuttall PykeFebruary 1, 2022 at 2:02 pm #231167That’s about right assuming O’Malley is injured and Beestin is not fully fit. Lewis has earned a go in his preferred position so 442 is another option if/When O’Malley is fit.
Also Burns deserves to stay in and see how he goes with some support up front, so could start with Pyke on the bench.

February 1, 2022 at 2:03 pm #231168Can’t believe Pugh gets anywhere near the best 11.
” maybe Beestin when fit but i like Pugh’s box to box qualities)” when tranlated means runs around a lot with minimal effect.
Watson
Matheson Onariase Delaney Lewis (for now)
Grant
Feeney Beestin Sinclair (rotating throughout the match)
Burns Nuttall
Please bear in mind I have never seen Delaney or Nuttall play but I have seen the alternative in Delaneys case.
Bench looks a bit thin without O’Malley, Hackney & Bunn.2 users thanked author for this post.
February 1, 2022 at 2:13 pm #231171I’d go with that 👆
February 1, 2022 at 2:25 pm #231176CT’s lineup is the one I’d go for (very much agree with the comments regarding Pugh, shouldn’t be anywhere near our best 11). If everyone is fit I still think Thompson is our best left back.

February 1, 2022 at 3:03 pm #231180Will leave it till I see what Keith serves up on Saturday, I see Taft is as popular as ever 😂 but he deffo needs a rest IMO, like till May.
February 1, 2022 at 7:32 pm #231200I said 4/4/2 might be an option with the players we have now. I think O’malley is close because he only had a tight hamstring.
When he is fit it would be interesting because we could go
Matheson Onariase Delaney O’Malley
Feeney Beestin Grant Lewis
Burns NuttallUntil O’Malley is up to speed, the line up which cassidy suggested is about right
Matheson Onariase Delaney Lewis
Grant
Feeney Beestin Sinclair
Burns NuttallI know Hill does like a 4/4/2 with a big striker up front with umpteen crosses being slung in as he played like that religiously at Rochdale.
Lewis is a natural left winger so don’t rule out a 4/4/2. I can’t for the life of me think why people would favour Pugh over a fit Beestin.
February 1, 2022 at 8:35 pm #231214I’m hoping our new signings are really good WG but we will probably still need a goalkeeper.
Also when was the last time Beestin looked properly fit?
February 1, 2022 at 9:15 pm #231222What an arse !
I didn’t feel the need to include the Gk, we only really have Watson in first team contention. I think that’s obvious.
If you didn’t assume Watson would have been the keeper then I worry for you.
February 1, 2022 at 9:33 pm #231223Ha, I forgot about Burns, yes probably Burns in for Pyke/Nuttall.
Still believe Pugh>Beestin for his B2B qualities. Grant won’t be that mobile and likes to sit deeper. I have read in the past that Grant prefers to play in a three so could rule out a 4-4-2.
Pugh will help get us up the pitch. In terms of footballing ability Beestin is better than Pugh but with Pugh in CM we have a better balanced team and a better first 11.

February 1, 2022 at 9:34 pm #231224Calm yourself. Not a very good one I accept but a joke nonetheless.
Mind you Collins is having a blinder down in Spalding according to the Twitter feed.

February 2, 2022 at 9:53 am #231242Defense still looks pretty flimsy. With the honourable exception of Rory Watson.
February 2, 2022 at 10:08 am #231244Burns has done enough so far to earn a start on Saturday IMO.

February 2, 2022 at 10:54 am #231246Isn’t he our top goalscorer? In fact, depending on the team sent out, he could be our only goalscorer.

Think Onarise has got one this season and you’d assume he’d start over Taft? Can’t think of many others though, you’re right.
February 2, 2022 at 1:52 pm #231260Taft is not going to be just playing for a contract but to find any club.
If Delaney is match fit – must start.February 2, 2022 at 2:48 pm #231268Taft has gone to shit. Delaney has to come in to partner Manny. I’d go Burns off Nuttall but going by comments from people who went last night, he supposedly looked way, way short of match fitness.
Understandable though considering how long it is since he’s had a run of games. I suspect he’ll probably get 60 mins like last night for Pyke to come on.
February 2, 2022 at 3:11 pm #231269How match fit will Pyke be? Has he been playing many competitive games this season?
February 2, 2022 at 6:59 pm #23128816 matches mostly from the bench but has apparently played in their reserves regularly. I suspect he must be there match fit wise as he didn’t play a part last night.

Think Sgt Wilson and Captain Mannering kept him pretty busy on the Home Guard assault course.

February 2, 2022 at 8:53 pm #231301In which case, start him and bring Nuttall on later
February 2, 2022 at 10:35 pm #231305Mint idea DM.
February 2, 2022 at 11:57 pm #231308It’s Nutall bad is it 🙄
February 3, 2022 at 12:28 am #231309I’d play Nuttall from the start personally as he’s only going to get fit with minutes and if he can pinch a few whilst not fully fit, all will be good. we could always bring Pyke on after 60 minutes.
One thing about Pyke is that I keep reading is that he’s powerful, very quick, decent hold up play but can’t score for toffee. I hope that changes here !
February 3, 2022 at 9:10 am #231318Let’s hope we’re not paying him in toffee then.
February 3, 2022 at 10:35 am #231335We’ve needed a player to hold the ball up front in all 28 games and never looked like having one.
Those are the guys who create for others, make defenders worried and set up the chances.
The worry is that a number of players in our squad have never seen this phenomenon before. They need to be taught what it entails and to start getting used to this – and bloomin’ quickly!February 3, 2022 at 10:55 am #231347Burns has shown he could snaffle up those chances if created
February 3, 2022 at 11:03 am #231350It may be only a small number of our squad Les we’ve just shipped out 8 in a month.
