Passing mention on Humberside.
Very good but dominant CM the greater priority.November 9, 2024 at 4:48 pm #293471Dominant CM remains the greater priority.

November 9, 2024 at 4:52 pm #293472We lost the high level footballing brain when Butters left – and he was not replaced.
November 9, 2024 at 4:57 pm #293473When he left for league or premier league football?
November 9, 2024 at 5:24 pm #293479Dominant CM remains the greater priority.
And I think we need a left-winger. So that’s three so far on the Christmas list.
November 9, 2024 at 5:28 pm #293480No. He was certainly our best player last seasons. How many accolades did he receive?
It’s a shame he didn’t stay.November 9, 2024 at 5:53 pm #293488Recent results suggest that a change in priorities might be needed, maybe a couple of defenders that can defend?
November 9, 2024 at 5:56 pm #293490Whatever your thoughts on Butterfield he contributed an awful lot. I would’ve liked Butterfield and Butler. Butler on his own is now hard to justify for me personally. A player coach/assistant in Butterfield would’ve added some good experience in the front positions.
November 9, 2024 at 6:00 pm #293493What contribution is Schofield making?
November 9, 2024 at 6:03 pm #293496It has been clear for 6 – 8 weeks that something is badly wrong.
Why the mega delays in addressing critical issues?
If it’s right to act now – and of course, we don’t yet know that it is – what has changed?November 9, 2024 at 6:37 pm #293501Dominant CM remains the greater priority.

If we sign a striker and change the shape we could play Carlton on the wing where he was so successful last season for Chorley.
November 9, 2024 at 6:51 pm #293507AB: Two attack-minded players.
First appears to be coming in on Monday.
Second still in the decision-making process – a probable?Where is the CM??
Some players going out on loan.
November 9, 2024 at 6:52 pm #293508To me our form dipped when they got new contracts

November 9, 2024 at 7:18 pm #293512I agree that Butters should have stayed for his experience and his brain.

November 9, 2024 at 9:45 pm #293521My spies are also suggesting Luke Williams.
November 9, 2024 at 10:02 pm #293522What contribution is Schofield making?
Schofields contribution can easily be measured, last season Port Vale were relegated from League 1, this year they are top of League 2.
Luke Williams would be a desperate signing by a desperate manager.

What’s the logic in signing a former player whose career has been blighted with reoccurring injury, haven’t we been down that road enough in the past?

Carlton scored those goals last season as a part of a front 3. Butler could field that formation now, Roberts and Carlton either side of Whitehall, but chooses not to.
Clunan Beestin and Brogan in midfield with a flat back 4. Butler has the players to play it, but won’t. I don’t see what signing more players is going to do personally.
The problem in my opinion is Butler and his fascination with playing this stupid formation.

Doesn’t look to have been injured much the last few years playing in Iceland. Captain now too

Wiki would suggest otherwise:-
2015–2018 Scunthorpe United 37 (5)
2017 → Northampton Town (loan) 8 (0)
2018–2021 Hartlepool United 11 (0)
2021–2022 Gateshead 1 (1)
2022– Víkingur 31 (12)1 user thanked author for this post.
November 10, 2024 at 10:49 am #293574Is that up to date I wonder?

Certainly would have provided some balance on the management team to have someone more attack minded sharing ideas and thoughts.
November 10, 2024 at 10:53 am #293576the term for this signing if it is Luke Williams is … PANIC BUYING.. AB and LT should both be out the door instead of allowing them to waste anymore money on duffers.

November 10, 2024 at 10:54 am #293579Agree, a desperate signing by the desperate dynamic duo.
November 10, 2024 at 11:04 am #293586Luke Williams, to add to Calum Roberts, Alfie Beestin and Will Evans?
Christ the night…
November 10, 2024 at 11:15 am #293588Now Roberts seems fit at the moment .. Jason Law must be pushing for the top ov the crocks player of the year surely ..
November 10, 2024 at 11:39 am #293595A lot to agree with on this thread. Think we only need a couple of elder statesman in the spine. The rest should be young, hungry and fit to go. Bolstered by young loan signings a bit like the Buxton lad !
