Unfortunately the standard of the opposition is ramping up too, the next three looking decidedly tricky. No, for me it has to be NLN next season, and I’d say your statistician is being decidedly optimistic, Les. 90/10 for me at best.

I in 3 to an optimist sounds fair to me, but I’m a pessimist so no chance.

50 points is another 27 required. In 17 games, that’s 1.6 points/game. It basically means winning just over half our remaining games: not an easy ask when you’ve won 5 all season. But if we build on the last few weeks, it’s not completely impossible.

quite a few new signing while losing 90k a month?,” it’s his money “so they said once before.
Be wary people. I’d like to see a plan to stay afloat before I start crowing about this new guy

Agreed. It’s fantastic the club has been saved and I’m not being funny but paying the tax bill was going to be a necessity for any buyer if they wanted to move forward. New players were desperately needed no matter who bought the club. Never expected marquee signings. However, keen to see details of the takeover, how it’s being funded and the longer term plans (appreciate this could take time to develop). Whilst one person has ‘complete control’ it’s not unreasonable to be cautious.

It will be funded by debt like most clubs are, and will probably want repaying what he borrows before he moves on.

Must dash, just seen a claret and blue baying mob with pitchforks running down the road: ‘burn him, burn him…!’

Will it? Be good to know the detail soon.

All those years under the chairmanship of Swann has left an indelible stain on the mindset of even the most optimistic Iron fans. This is understandable, he run our club into the ground (literally) and it will take years to get it back on track (also literally).

However we have the chance to sweep up with a new broom, and I for one will give the new connections a chance, even if we lose 10 – 0 tonight. It’s gonna take time!

Definitely going to take time and I’m sure chances will be given, particularly under the circumstances. Hopefully those that are hero worshiping now don’t turn too fast if it’s not plain sailing

I guess there’s also a cost to not doing anything given the current league position. But agreed that we should be wary of any owner splashing the cash.

Maybe not too much impact on the finances?
Nuttall & Lavery out – Shields, DSF & McDonagh in.
Apter & Dewhurst back – Fewster, Bunker & Leake loaned
Might even have saved a bit?

Nuttall went for around £100k, so that will have helped too (3 or 4 home gates worth of cash?).

Off set some of the additional spend on necessary recruitment via additional gate receipts? Certainly started on the right foot.

Success doesn’t come cheap and even then it’s not guaranteed, a la Wrexham, Notts county, chesterfield and Stockport.

I’d like to see where we can reach operating sustainably, as Hilton has said he’s aiming to.

Talked to a statistician last night.
To stay up we probably need 50 points. Possibly a few less.
    Draws will be the killer.
Win 9 – lose 8 would be perfectly fine. Win 8, draw 3 – we can only afford 6 defeats
With what is presumably a strengthened squad + recent form, he was prepared to suggest that our chances of survival might be one in three to an optimist.

Talked to a bin man yesterday.

He says to stay up, we need Messi & Ronaldo up front, De Bruyne & Modric in midfield with Van Dijk & Dias at the back.

    “Rubbish” I said (bin man 😂 ) – we’ll walk it now 😂

“I have a private plane. But I fly commercial when I go to environmental conferences.”

    Arnold Schwarzenegger.

We need to be honest with ourselves.
Hilton & Dean are prepping for an assault on winning the NLN next season.

Blood the youngsters, empower them to learn, experience and develop.
Develop them, promote them, sell them for decent money.

I believe Wrexham will be in the Championship by the beginning of season 2026-27. If not a year sooner.

Hill & Swann tried that preparing for an assault on winning the NL. It didn’t work very well for them did it?

I was wondering, “what actually is the present financial position of SUFC ????”

Does the club now own the Stadium, or does Mr Hilton own it?, either way there is no club debt.

What is the cash situation at present?, are they heavily in debt?

Does the club still own the Football League the reportedly £2 million?

If gater remain at over 3,200, does this cover the weekly outgoings?

Do SUFC owe Mr Hilton any money?

Will advertising be stept up Stadium Name change etc, and food outlets etc?

Will club funds be enhanced by a new board of Directors.

Will the Iron Supporters club be donating any funds, or will they continue to support food banks, and what about charging yearly subs to members?

Lets hope that things are not as bad as when Swann was the owner, and lets give our 100% to the present owner, and hope that he gets results, things have really changed this week after the past seven sad years under the Swanns!!!
When is the date of the anual general club meeting????
