One on the hour, every hour between 9-3 tomorrow apparently – slightly worried about getting quality over quantity but will be interesting to see what level of signings come in.

I’d be interested to know who’s identified these players and how. Seems like a quick analysis of what’s needed has taken place and players identified, either with the current coaching and management team (now including Dean) or has Turnball already had them identified? See who they are I guess.

We’d have been astounded last week that there’d be 7 players of ANY standard willing to come here.

It’s not uncommon in these situations for players to follow an owner or a new manager to a club – I wonder if we’ll see a bunch of Peterborough Sports’ & Ilkeston’s players heading in our direction?

Indeed. Wonder what sort of contracts they’re getting? All will be revealed I guess. We definitely need new players. Is 7 too many in one go though? More often than not, a sudden influx of new faces doesn’t guarantee instant success. And where does it leave the lads who have stepped up to the plate recently? Before any clappers start having a pop, these are legitimate questions any Iron supporter should be considering.

Some might be youngsters signing to gain experience and working there way up, not all forced to be seven ready to go first teamers. We will have to be patient and see.

Deerey your talking as though we have a great team and being playing well all season. I hope he’s building for next season it leaves everyone to fight for their place, it’s the same players who we say haven’t been good enough. In 90% of the games this year that I’ve seen we’ve been outplayed so imo you can’t ruffle feathers when your relegation fodder. New men new ideas if it works great if it don’t we can only drop one place and start afresh next season can’t see any legitimate questions the new owner or manager have to consider. Bring it on.

So long as the Swann family had no input there might even be some good ones among them.

‘Deerey your talking as though we have a great team and being playing well all season.’ I’m not but not surprised you’ve interpreted it like that. Par for the course. Anyhow, we’ll see what, who, and what sort of contracts won’t we

I thought people were salivating the other day about the wage bill potentially being cut? Are players on the way out then? Maybe I’m being over cautious? Again, just legitimate questions. No more, no less.

I think it’s fair to say the playing side has been underfunded for the past four seasons, perhaps the new owner is trying to redress the balance but there could well be staff cuts coming elsewhere.

I wasn’t Deerey my message was spend, spend, spend, I do know what your saying and yes the new manager and players might turn out to be total shite but I don’t give a flying f at least their giving it ago, and remember it’s not your money. Legitimate why you have legitimate questions?

It wasn’t our money last time but we almost lost our club.

I’m on the same wavelength as you Deerey, excited for the future but will be questioning decisions along the way.

In terms of the new signings, I’ve heard one from chesterfield, loan from Forest and the Peterborough sports lad.

You would hope with Nelson staying he is trusted to give advice about what he feels is needed and that some of the players previously identified are still on the list.

With the best will in the world to the new chairman and manager 7 from Ilkeston/Peterborough Sports will do us no good at all.
2/3 from there, 3/4 experienced players and 1/2 on loan from Peterborough or wherever and maybe we’re in with a shot.

‘I’m on the same wavelength as you Deerey, excited for the future but will be questioning decisions along the way.’

Be crazy not to wouldn’t it. I don’t buy in to this, ‘it’s his money, he can do as he pleases’ stance. He will do as he pleases of course, but hopefully the supporters are taken along the journey more than with the previous custodian and he’s less prickly regarding scrutiny of business matters. In the meantime, like everyone else, looking forward to see who’s coming in and maybe start getting a sense of a strategy developing.

No Northubiron, that cannot be correct pal, because Hallam has not reached being fit enough for training just yet, maybe the corter was bringing a new massage table for the treatment room due the the old one being worn out!

I’ve got an idea who I would like it to be! He was linked with the smelly ones down the road.
