Pugh, Perry, Hackney, Wood. It’s the toss of a coin really!

Hackney is clear of the other 3!

How many of this squad would walk into any other league two team? O’Malley, maybe Pugh that’s it.

O’Malley takes a lovely free kick and corner but defensively he’s pretty poor. I think he’ll improve but there must be plenty of much better left backs in this division.

. by that i mean 3 plus new faces including a decent striker

I think we need 2 good-ish strikers in as one won’t cut it. Need a CB and a progressive CM player. That’s the bare minimum because even then you could argue we need a RB and a mobile DCM player as Rowe is preferred over Kenyon so that can’t say much for Kenyon and he’s injury prone himself.

We have nothing at all upfront besides Burns and he’s never even played league football before coming here.

Cant disagree with that ..alas cant see any of it happening in the next 10 days ..hope im wrong but appears we may being going out with wimper .. even some young codhead fookwits are taking the piss on SM re our plight and Mactee scoring a stunner against Altrincham.

Based on recent form I would say Watson would get a game at most clubs.

I bet Cox has a bit of a smile on his face, a bit like Robbins and Alexander!

I suspect Robbins and Alexander stopped caring how the Iron are doing a long time ago. Unless it gets brought up in therapy?

To a degree, with regards to Swann, but I suspect he’d mostly be disheartened for the way his hometown club is falling apart. :-(

Was not the Stelling criticism for sacking Wilcox?

One of the few things Mr Swann has got right as Russ’s managerial record since has confirmed.

    Cox 11 in 15, 0.73
    Hill 11 in 15, 0.73

Youve got to take into consideration what Hill inherited from Cox .. i rate him as a manager but sadly he isnt a fairy godmother with a magic wand..

Grant looks like a class player calm cool and something we desperately needed .. the jury is still out on the other January intake.

3 points is 3 points and Carlise Walsal and a couple more in the mix will be nipping their arses now especially with Oldham winning again.

I think Delaney was excellent last night and looks an upgrade on Taft’s recent displays. To be fair Taft did OK when he came on. A lot more energy than he has been showing.

Possibly a player that needs something to prove to bring out his best given how good he looked when he first arrived here on loan.

I think I have done that – the fact that until last night Hill was getting worse results than Cox did with a similar, then improved, squad was a worry. Still a relatively small sample size though, time to improve things.

That said, if we’d lost last night, I think Hill would have been on very shaky ground.

Just for you ferrite, we’ll sack hill off and bring Cox back. Hill doesn’t only have to content with moulding 8 new players together, he also has to get them fit in the process.

Cox only got the results he did because he sat everybody behind the ball and crossed his fingers the opposition strikers had a massive off day and we got a lucky one from a dead ball situation.

I know who’d I’d rather have in charge. Question Hill all you like but he’s a massive improvement on Cox.

Exactly how is that different from last night? That’s literally how we won.

I’ll reserve judgement on Hill; so far, I’m not particularly impressed because I can’t really see much of a plan but let’s hope it comes as his new signings bed in & get up to fitness.

I thought after the poor start we were looking to get more on the front foot as the game wore on, don’t forget Walsall also cleared an effort off the line late in the first half but the sending off changed things. We had no choice but to adapt a more defensive strategy when down to ten men and bearing in mind fitness levels are still far from ideal I thought we managed the second half well. We rode our luck at times but most teams would in the same situation we found ourselves in last night, a good battling win.

I think things will start to look better as the players get fitter. Anything we pick up along the way will be a welcome bonus.

Last night was a glimmer of hope. It showed that we have a better team than we had before, a team that can hold on to a lead with ten men.

Remember most of the teams we will be playing against are just as bad as ours. We can survive with our league status intact.

    Believe UTBI

We were down to 10 men, what did you expect us to do ?

I’d still rather have Hill rather than Cox.

Yes i missed Delaney off my earlier post … added to Grant he looks like a decent signing.

The fat lady coughed spluttered but sat down again , maybe shes got omicron ? and following two L2 clubs YT channels those being Walsal and Carlisle it appears they are getting squeaky bums and maybe the fat lady hasnt quite made her mind up where to sing yet.

keep the faith and get behind Hill and the lads.

Hill may well be better than Cox, time will tell.

But we were absolutely terrible for the first hour, especially the first 20 minutes.
