Thank goodness. UTWI
October 22, 2020 at 2:14 pm #196368Hope everyone is happy now. Will he be a Swanny or Cox appointment,I guess time will tell.
October 22, 2020 at 2:19 pm #196369Our keeper must think it’s like a manager of the month curse. He gets in the team of midweek then loses his place (long overdue).
October 22, 2020 at 2:43 pm #196370Finally
October 22, 2020 at 2:44 pm #196371Great news! I can allow myself a small modicum of optimism until Saturday afternoon.
Rory wants to take the positives from this and learn from Howard. As much as Mussy can coach during the week there’s no substitute for watching how an experienced keeper behaves during a competitive match.
Similar experience at FB or CMF and I’ll be feeling better.

Bit of a clue here, let’s hope ‘it’s the future Jerry’:-
“First team manager Neil Cox added: “Mark’s an experienced goalkeeper that we’ve tried to get a couple of times when I’ve been at other clubs”I’m delighted and WG will be over the moon that his advice is being heeded.
October 22, 2020 at 3:02 pm #196373Mind you he will be like Brown he won’t be fit for a couple of weeks.
October 22, 2020 at 3:09 pm #196374Said this before that Rory will be a good keeper ! But at this time with a young inexperienced defence (until junior and hopefully very soon Jordan gets fit) we need a keeper that can be vocal, organise and basically give the defenders ear bashing.
Hopefully Rory can work with mark In training and learn from his experience Plus this also gives Rory the competition he hasn’t had until now, also hope he doesn’t sulk if Mark gets in the straight away but work hard and tries to regain his place.October 22, 2020 at 3:13 pm #196375I’d start Howard & Brown and hope Brown can go 60 mins. Howard should last the game as most of the action will be at the other end won’t it?
October 22, 2020 at 3:17 pm #196376Two questions:
1) If this guy is so good, why was he out of contract?
2) A squad of 31 players, how is that manageable?

Can’t offer much on number 1. Played for Some good sides during his career but not accumulated much game time for a 34 year old keeper.
2- it’s not, in fact it’s beyond a joke when the club has hardly any income whatsoever and more indicative of the complete scattergun approach which is our ‘transfer policy’.
October 22, 2020 at 3:53 pm #1963791) If this guy is so good, why was he out of contract?
Mario Balotelli is a free agent at the moment, as is Mario Mandzukic, Fabio Borini and Oumar Niasse.
2) A squad of 31 players, how is that manageable?
Ask the transfer “committee”!
October 22, 2020 at 3:56 pm #196380It’s called being a funny summer to be out of contract, didn’t he play for Salford against us last season.
October 22, 2020 at 3:57 pm #196381We desperately need a right back now.
October 22, 2020 at 4:05 pm #196382Mario Balotelli is a free agent at the moment, as is Mario Mandzukic, Fabio Borini and Oumar Niasse.
So they’re either not good enough to get a club or have priced themselves out of a move?
Borini, for example, turned down an extension with Verona in the summer.
October 22, 2020 at 4:09 pm #196383Fans tended to feel pretty comfortable with him between the sticks down the road from me in Sheffield.
I’m on the look out for my next door – Blades fan – neighbour, for an outdoor chilly chat.Sadly, I feel that we have chucked away unnecessary points by leaving this signing so late but we are now that one player away from having a realistic squad which can avoid the drop.
Yet again the football knowledge on this board should be considered as a mega resource for the club.
October 22, 2020 at 7:59 pm #196395A RB and a CM and we’ll be a lot better. Ideally we could do with another striker but let’s not get too greedy !
McGahey back will help a bit as well.
Swann was right in that we don’t need a scouting system, he may as well let people use the internet and scout free agents without him being involved.
October 22, 2020 at 8:15 pm #196396Word on Twitter is Dean Parrott.
October 22, 2020 at 8:26 pm #196398I have been told the money freed up by Ryan leaving is funding three new players, two in already and as cox has said hopefully the other one Is imminent, if this is true Ryan most have been on a very good wage.

Is he the one with the beautiful plumage mick? Oh sorry that’s the Norwegian Blue I’m thinking of from Month Python.🐦

About 4k a week
October 23, 2020 at 9:01 am #196422If that figure is true it makes you wonder what is in the heads of these young footballers! Yes they train hard and have a short career, but they are doing a job that most young kids only dream about.
this path has been trod many times by young man who have got everything and more of what they need with none of the stress of the real working world, hopefully this situation can be sorted and Ryan can fulfill his potential at another club.October 23, 2020 at 9:17 am #196423Coco was well paid. Hence attempts to move him on last season. Still think 2 more to come.
Another defender and a CM leader. The 4th because we have lost Vincent for months.
October 23, 2020 at 9:56 am #196425A couple more definitely on the horizon.

Failed to keep Stevenage off the bottom of the table
Would hope we’re looking at better.
October 23, 2020 at 11:16 am #196430We are going to need to shift 6 at least in Jan.
We are desperate for quality but this should have been done at the start so we could have signed half as many.
No way we can operate on a squad of 35
October 23, 2020 at 11:33 am #196431A squad size which is not at all desirable for a small club. Too cumbersome, by far.
But if BI66 is correct with the ‘three in for Colclough’ idea – which he almost certainly will be – that is the price of experienced players in our Brave New Covid World.
I’ll wager there’s a hefty few of the far less experienced on between £20 – £30k a year. Financially this may be sustainable if we eventually get crowds in.
Now down to just 3 big earners, I’d say: Olomola, McGahey & KVV.
October 23, 2020 at 11:42 am #196433A couple more definitely on the horizon.
I would have said a RB and CM player but now Vincent’s out for quite a while, it wouldn’t surprise me if 2 CM’s came in…even with experienced one we’re short there.
Taylor is more a no 10.
Beestin, Spence, Hornshaw and Taylor…not great options there.

October 23, 2020 at 12:11 pm #196439Ferrite, people struggle with addiction from all walks of life, irregardless of of their Job title.
