The knock on effects to all those who are close to someone who has taken their own life are huge.
I have been really troubled when this has happened to not especially close friends from years ago – what it must be like for family and close friends is unthinkable.

And to think that people gave him stick about the football at the time.

Poor Neil, we all knew he was having some personal problems, but I’d no idea it was so dreadful. Hope you manage to get over it OK with time Neil.

saddened to hear this news and now knowing the circumstances maybe he would have been better stepping down and away from the his role at the club at this terrible time .. having had two members of my family commit suicide, they say time is a great healer alas to this day my thoughts are never far away from both these very sad times in my life.

Had a former work friend. Was a couple of decades ago but saw him in Scunthorpe at 1.10pm we had a chat, he appeared the norm and the Police estimated he ended his life near to 7pm – still wonder if I missed something. Always remember him. It is tough as you say ‘ironfromafar’.

Tough one as a lot of people deal with grief by throwing themselves into work, we all deal with things differently.

    Horrific for the whole family.

I can’t pretend I enjoyed Neil Cox’s time as a manager but I had a lot more time for him as a man and I think he’s been a big upgrade on Humberside from other summarisers. I hope he & his children are coping and are able to carry on with their lives.
