Expected a tough game and that’s what we got; following 2 entertaining games the players can be forgiven for being slightly off, I agree there appeared to be some fatigue setting in.
We had to get 9 point from 9, credit to Butler, and the squad in doing so. 10 days until the next league game and we go again.
There’ve been some phenomenal moves, passes and plays, and absolutely fantastic football moments, during these three games. That’s been really heartening. But it’s totally unrealistic and even unfair to expect Division 6 players to be able to sustain a performance at that level for all 90 minutes of a match. Those moments are at the top end of their limits.
Forgot to mention, I thought Whitehall had another good game last night. Really grown into the role of leading the line and showed some excellent touches and hold up play last night.
If he could cut out the silly fouls and needless attempts to play act it would be better. Thought Whitehall had a mixed game, made a couple of good passes/headers, but other times seemed slow to react.
The attempt at play acting in the second half was stupid, thankfully it’s become much less frequent this year.
Anyone know the attendance?
Something like 3155 with 26 away
Beestin looked like a fish out of water in that position as did Evans in an earlier game. If you don’t have a DMF then play a system that doesn’t need one! Butler thought he did well which is worrying. (to me) Happy to have the 3 points but not good to watch for 80 minutes.
I personally thought Beestin did well in that role. Still think we need another defensive midfielder as Clunan is the only one at the club. Whatever formation we end up playing, we’re going to need one for the sake of balance.
We could recall Shrimpton, but he’s not playing at Spennymoor and Brogan is more effective further up the pitch like Beestin is.

The whole point of Shrimpton n Brogan going out on loan was to get them game time .. in Shrimps case i note hes not getting much if any as on the subs bench which is strange as while their before he played every game and did very well by all accounts.
Not a massive fan of Clunan but hope his injury isnt long term coming to a pivotal part of the season… also hoping Roberts remains fit he is getting clattered “targeted perhaps” quite often
Shrimpton started on Tuesday.
