Chorley 1-0 down with 15 mins to go.

We will only need 3 points from the last 2 games to ensure second place as our goal difference is dar superior.

We should really smash these last two league games and go into the playoffs bang on winning form, no real excuses now not to show our full potential and win promotion.

So a win on Saturday gaions Scunny second place in the league and the chance of two home play off matches, given that we win the first one of these. I wonder if JD will alow the mplayers to exp-ress themselves by dumping that stupid one up front system of his, and at the same time give the loyal supporters some reason to enjoy the full 90 min s of games instead of last Saturdays first half disaster????
I just cannot see why top management have never had words with him, if they had the game on Saturday would have seen the team as league champions instead of the play offs, please Jimmy let the players have the 4-4-2 freedom, at the end of the day, we are only playing Blyth Spartons who are rubbish.

Yes nearly being the key word … IF Scunny loose against Blyth and Glouster and Brackley (3 pts behind) win both they will finish second .. and Chorley (5pts behind) win both they would also finish above the Iron… of course this wont happen ..WILL IT ???

One win and we’ll finish second is how I’m seeing it.

Yep just the one win and we’re second, unless Brackley win one of theirs about 20-0.

Indeed it is …its a funny old game and stranger things have happened… very interesting to see how JD sets up this Saturday be nice to see a 442 line up , but doubtful.

Hopefully no injuries and or red cards in the last 2 fixtures

I think the worst case scenario would be Whitehall getting injured or suspended and having to play Elliott in the play offs.

Start with Whitehall on Saturday, go for it from the off, and once it’s clear we’ve won the game take him off. Then don’t play him at Gloucester.

If he doesn’t set up for non stop attacking JD should leave early !

I fully expect a storming performance on Saturday. I think the second half comeback last Saturday has been a bit of a confidence boost, and really showed what we can do if we keep at teams and ‘don’t take no for an answer’.

I think we may have to offer our thanks to Ross Barrows for his contribution last night.

Bit of a fan of Barrows and wouldn’t mind seeing him stay next season.

It’s always helpful to have at least one of your full backs 6ft and decent in the air particularly at National League levels where set pieces are so important.

I think Kelly is the only full back contracted for next season.

The fact his loan extension now has a 24 hour recall is also excellent news for extra squad cover going into the playoffs.

If we go to Gloucester City needing something and lose, then we shouldn’t even bother entering the play-offs!

We won’t, second place will be secured on Saturday, the following Saturday will be party day.

After the previous 5 seasons of sh1te and seeing off 2 toxic owners a small party might be in order.

If we could actually win the playoffs then the party could be upgraded to a medium.

Does Jimmy get forgiven if we win the playoffs?

It’ll most definitely be party time if we win the playoffs, not sure there’ll be much of party at Gloucester though.

Regarding Jimmy, if we win the playoffs I think we have to give him a chance next season. He seems to have learned from some mistakes over the past couple of weeks and reverting to a plan B has actually worked (especially vs Southport). I’d be willing to give him a chance, he’s relatively inexperienced at this level and the one above so there’s definitely room for him to improve.

It would be a costly mistake giving Dean next season. Aside from the odd great performance – the season as a whole hasn’t been good enough – I look at the fact we have lost 10 times to these teams when we have a squad on paper that should’ve done a Yeovil. Over the season not good enough – can we risk Dean involved in player recruitment. loans will be vital and his use of loan players has been abysmal

Ref’s has cost us a good 6 points due to dodgy decisions and non awarding of penalties. Dean has been questionable in a fair few games due to dodgy tactics and poor subs.

Cant argue with any of that IA .. IMO if we win the playoffs the Board will give JD next season as just cant see them sacking him after hes has achieved the goal set when brought in, i just hope its on a decent easy to terminate contract that wont cost the club an arm n a leg to off load if n when it goes tits up we are struggling as the NL league be a whole new ball game one im not sure JD could survive in.. do they have month by month contracts ????.

Also suppose it depends on just who could would come in and replace him ???

I know we are in a decent position for the playoffs but make no mistake its gonna be a very difficult whoever we play in them.

So why are at this point .. with this squad has HMS piss the league floundered , ran aground and ship wrecked ?? answers on a postcard …. but IMO

Meeting the freak perfect storm in Tamworth

What ever it was (still dont know) but the off field drama at SUFC must of effected the teams mindset in that terrible spell after New Year.

Too many very dikky decisions by refs etc perfectly good goals disallowed (SMT), numerous stone wall pens not given etc etc and also games being called off when should have been played which resulted in the team we were playing being stronger and in better form that at the first time of playing (SMT)

Some of JDs tactics n team selection/formation hasnt helped at times

anymore ?? feel free to add.

Think you’ve about covered it ironfromafar, oh you forgot the eclipse which caused a sensation in the USA this week, that obviously had a massive bearing on us not winning the league.
