January 22, 2022 at 1:07 pm #230173Well, that’s a shortsighted approach if you ask me UTI99. It would be sensible to try and find and sign players who have the potential to be sold on at profit a bit more than has been happening in recent years. Is that in the business strategy?

Topics: 11Do you mean like Goode, Wootton and Burgess who were hounded out of the club by certain fans but are now doing very well for themselves?
Please can you change your username NLI, hard to take someone who calls us the Irons seriously.
January 22, 2022 at 1:14 pm #230178Of course we will lose money this season, if we need 3000 to break even then it’s quite obvious we will run a debt up, but debt will only be 2-3 million against the the 13-14 million it would have been.
January 22, 2022 at 1:16 pm #230179Not the ‘hounded out’ whataboutery again! Even if there’s some truth I in that, it’s only part of the story

Topics: 11So you think the signing of Goode and the abuse he got should be swept under the carpet because it doesn’t fit your narrative? The club could have profited greatly if fans had gave the lad a chance.
January 22, 2022 at 1:24 pm #230183Do you mean they get someone willing to pump in extra money? Like Wrexham/Stockport paying £3/4k per week?
No more like a club run well like Harrogate, Sutton, Forest Green, Morecambe, Newport, Crawley, Stevenage, Barrow, Wycombe, Cheltenham, Burton all teams that have fairly recently slowly built their club up from non league not recklessly throwing millions at then panicking and having to take an EFL loan to just get by!. Not too much to ask is it?
uptheiron99 not too much to ask to have a well run club on low gates is it?

Not saying it should be swept under the carpet. But the clubs problems run far deeper than a few players getting some stick.
January 22, 2022 at 1:42 pm #230187He’s failed to answer the points Cass made so very well and now he is in full distraction mode, mind you it’s nothing new from him TBF. He can’t answer the relevant questions but he sure can keep posting the bull poop as a defence for his lord and master.

January 22, 2022 at 1:44 pm #230188Going back to the OP, the saddest thing for me is Neville making a fuss on air because a “big club” is in the mire.
Where was he when Bury expired? Silent.
To mention them now to make his point is poor show.January 22, 2022 at 1:53 pm #230191I’ve always thought since the Premiership was launched there was an undercurrent of bigger clubs with, made not an agenda but a definite lack of interest in what happened to the lower structure of the professional game. I’m sure if the number of league clubs were reduced from 72 to under 50 they would welcome that due to less of a financial commitment on their part and even more interest centred on them and their big league. Just my opinion but I think the bigger clubs talk a good game about the ” bigger football family ” but in truth would like to see it shrink or disappear.
