4-4-2 much better a lot more positive throughout against a very good opposition.

Substitutions were largely positive except taking off your top goalscorer of 9 against 11 for the rest of the team with 20 minutes to go.

Scales added energy to the midfield and along with Harris and Brogan ensured Clunan wasn’t lost and on his own.

A very good interview on Humberside too from AB.

    The but?

Since the start of November we have witnessed 3 x 0-0 draws at home and two defeats 1-2 (FA Trophy) and 2-3.

We had a chance to claw back points today over Curzon Ashton but created few real chances and in truth Hereford could have won had it been not for 3/4 world class saves from Fitzsimmons.

That’s Buxton and Hereford who have made us look ordinary, therefore the 0-0 draws v Radcliffe and Alfreton are the 4 points which would have made us top had we won and not poorly drawn those games.

At the half way point in the season AB still doesn’t know his best side and admits he has learned lessons from the first half of the season.

Today did not suggest that and the kick it up to Beck tactic is as tragic as is Beck himself.

    That made me chuckle Matty.

It was much better than the Alfreton game and he did not play that absolutely ridiculous 5 across the back on the smallest of pitches.

However I did see a great panto at the Baths hall the other day, but not a great one this afty.

Haha got to laugh at something!

It’s just so directionless, drab, dire, uninspiring, flat.

We are lucky to have Fitzsimons.

If you read it correctly, it says 4-4-2 much better!

There were glimpses of football today which is an improvement, I still want ‘our’ AB gone NWI.

I didn’t see a 4-4-2 I saw a 4-2-3-1 with Beck the ‘1’ who was isolated first half flicking it on to nobody. That’s the second match I’ve gone to this season following a season ticket last year – logisitically it’s not ideal to attend matches but I’m not missing much. 1st half no idea what the strategy was, just looked completely aimless all over the pitch. Second half slight improvement but Hereford were the better team in that game. The keeper made a tremendous save first half that was goal bound. I think Butler comes across as extremely limited, tactically, in his interviews. Keeps banging on about clean sheets, which is great when we actually score, which of late has not been happening. I don’t think he knows what formation to play, he again talked about nullifying them – which means he is not setting up to our strengths. Very loud boos from where I was sat. It’s too cold to sit and watch that rubbish.

Stood on the terrace and for the most part was bored shitless, and not for the first game either. Game after game we barely create any chances of note. We just look so passive, even at home against part time teams we rarely seem to have a front foot mentality and a willingness to have a go at teams. Entertaining football seems a distant memory. A poor brand of football is acceptable to some extent if consistent results follow but shit football and poor results doesn’t make a great combination. Too much emphasis on keeping a clean sheet? It’s hard to be enthused about things currently

I think Butler has got it in his head that we have to play drab football and get out of the league by snatching 1-0 wins. Let’s face it he hasn’t got a hope in hell in the NL, especially playing however the hell he thinks we’re playing.
