Two good results but the midfield still doesn’t convince me. Spence & Beestin are hard-working and are doing the basics ok but, for me, I’d like to see Gilliead in the middle with one of them and put Green on the right wing. With his pace, combined with Eisa’s on the left, we’d really have something to rattle defences and pin teams back rather than inviting them onto us. Gilliead looks much better to me in central mid, his dribbling & range of passing seem better suited there than on the wing. Green also seems like he’d be more than capable of giving cover to Rowe or Clarke at full-back too.

Gillead out wide for me. Beestin and Spence are more than solid in there and allow the forward players to do their thing.

Let’s not forget, if Loft wasn’t so unlucky last night and he scored we would have won 2-0 away from home against a top 6 side.

Why should we even look to change right now?

Just shows (again) how we see things differently. I’m with WG on this in thinking that Gilliead is much more suited to a wide role. He puts maximum effort into both positions but is more effective from wide IMO. We saw last night how dangerous we can be getting the ball forward quickly to an attacker instead of p*****g about side to side which we’ve seen too much of lately. Let Beestin and Spence break up play and give the ball to Gilliead, Eisa, KVV or Loft and let them do what they do best. Green on against tiring legs for 20/30 minutes would do for me. (Maybe Hippolyte too if he shows some form) Positive subs for a change instead of the extra defender(s).

If and buts. If Loft hadn’t been so greedy and had squared it to a completely unmarked McAtee….

Fair enough Cass, maybe horses for courses? At home, with teams sitting deeper, I think we’ll need a bit more guile in midfield though.

With WG & CT on this one. Also I’d like to see Hallam incorporated at some point. Either as attacking CMF or in Kev’s no. 10 role should he be out again.

Taylor to come back too. As for Vincent I’d get a duo rail ticket back to Bournemouth for him and Cordner.

9 times out of 10 that shot hits inside of the post and goes in. I’d rather Loft took responsibility rather and not show the confidence to take the shot on.

Pretty low percentage shot from that angle, he did well to hit the post. McAtee was unmarked and an easy pass. Poor choice.
