Well worth listening to, a bit of an eye-opener in some respects.
March 24, 2025 at 4:52 pm #300504Like most, got a lot of time for Michelle. So, I’m going to take her word for it that nothing was signed/agreed.
For me this does put a LOT more in the negative column for fc100000. Utter amateur omnishambles from them to even start being billy big spuds about agreements in principle (and the rest).
I do have niggles in the back of my mind that maybe some fibs are being told to calm things down.
Personally, I would have no problems at all with a club/trust run membership scheme. I could be imagining it but I thought there used to be one. I’m sure I used to have a little laminated card with passport photo on it. Maybe it was for something else.
I want to wake up tomorrow forgetting any of this happened.

March 24, 2025 at 5:11 pm #300509Yes there used to be a membership scheme, sure there was some little perk to it, deffo gave us 2nd place for tickets for the Blackpool playoff final, thanks for dod all mr Rowling.
That was the start of my dislike of how the club was run and still to this day I seem to have that chip on my shoulder lol.
March 24, 2025 at 5:16 pm #300511Well that makes two of us that remember it.
I can’t remember much about it though. Perhaps a nominal one off annual cost? Then that gave you first dibs on tickets?

March 24, 2025 at 5:52 pm #300515If it’s the one I remember it was free but you needed it to pre- order tickets (over the phone in those days). So living away from Scunthorpe made joining essential.

Give over you were born with a chip on your shoulder, nowt to do with the Iron. If you were sat on your own sofa in your front room watching a TV debate all on your own, you’d fall out with yourself and probably knock your own teeth out, lol.

March 24, 2025 at 7:23 pm #300531Just listened to Michelle interview what bloody dribble lost me in the first minute saying they’d been looking at it for months Really Michelle!
Bloody frightening hope you can all see now what I’ve being saying dangle anything in front of them and they find it hard to refuse to get on board, anything for that grubby pound.
Cant remember the word she used but a word that ment they were well pissed off not to be given the chance to take it forward.
Caught with there pants down shame on them, why not be straight forward and if nothing else run it by the recognized fan group The Trust, instead of looking a set of t*ats.
When Hilton was going to do something, Trumpesque he’d announce it, get a reaction then in the main concede to the fans but at least he wasn’t devious like they’ve been. (Ok I concede he never wanted to own the ground).
Hope they think through the membership scheme out very carefully, last time it was no membership no ticket, if done on a monthly basis could they do the same? If not what would be the point of being a member.
Fiver a months like adding another £60 to a season ticket.Chance to sell Roberts and didn’t take it where’s the business sense in that when no guarantee he’ll sign next season, would still have seen the season out with us as he couldn’t have played for said Efl club. Barrie Thomas moment if they’d sold in January but at this stage how can we afford not to,not even entered contract negotiations and we all saw the disaster with Butterfields offer.
Club needs some direction instead of bobbling along half hearted.

March 24, 2025 at 7:30 pm #300534Which club wanted to buy Roberts?
March 26, 2025 at 3:29 pm #300722Loads of respect for Michelle but that interview was a mess. Surely our media-trained CEO should be rearing his head for things like this.

Very good point.

It wouldn’t surprise me if Michelle saw it has her responsibility to put herself in front of the microphone, I think she could be made of stronger stuff than the others.
There’s also the problem that people would only criticise if the CEO had gone out, some would have said that the board were hiding.

I think that’s fair enough, too.

March 26, 2025 at 3:59 pm #300730I don’t think it went very well, though, all told. It was under difficult circumstances during a difficult week, but it wasn’t the best of interviews.
March 26, 2025 at 4:06 pm #300731I didn’t go great, and I think everyone could see/hear that. But the fact that she stepped up and put herself out there was the best move.
I think FC100000 dropped her in the shit on a Sunday because they just couldn’t contain their excitement.
I don’t think Michelle would’ve had a lot of preperation time between dealing with death threats and angry sponsors. Maybe that’s where the CEO could’ve been a bit more visible?
March 26, 2025 at 4:13 pm #300734I am at a loss. All this rumblings about investments etc. I have not heard one word from the mysterious CEO. Who is he, what does he actually do for the club, except take a huge wage for doing nothing. When she took him on Michelle said he do the day to day running of the club. Has anybody actually seen him at any matches?? Has he brought any new investment, any more sponsorships?? Michelle really made a mistake with him, she would have been better keeping Turnbull. He wasnt brilliant but at least he knew the club and supported it fully, probably at half the price.

You’re presuming that he was her appointment.

Chosen for us by the codheads
March 26, 2025 at 10:40 pm #300837I’ve just listened to the interview for the first time.
An absolute car crash of a ‘chat’.We’ve all thanked Michelle for saving the club but it would appear that her and the present board have taken the club as far as they can.
The second last question was “what have you and the board learned from this” – listen to her (non) reply… they’ve learned nothing.
She sounded depressed, dejected and disillusioned with the state of affairs.
Her logorrheic replies weren’t the upbeat informed ones of old.I think she’s completely drained and unsure of how to move the club forward.
We have very little on our stall of value – we need the money – if the offer for Roberts was a good one, then surely it would have made sense to sell him. If they (buyer) were under valuing him, then the board have to put their spiv hats on and drive the price up.
Ebbsfleet & My Football was 2008.
Facebook (2004) Twitter (2006) and social media was around before the ‘takeover’. Internet has been around in a Windows type format since the early 90s. Ebbsfleet failed for different reasons – not because of (no) internet & (no) SM.We’re between a rock and a hard place at the moment.
Perhaps officially put the club up for sale. It needs major investment and a board with plenty of spare disposable wealth.
It feels as if we are on a road to nowhere.
I can see our Championship challenge being thwarted and missing out in the play offs.
8,000 plus there last Saturday – yet, it feels as if the club is dying.
March 27, 2025 at 6:00 am #300847They’ve taken their eyes off the ball this season (probably due to the rumoured infighting) and haven’t followed through a promising start – there’s no real fan engagement or informing of what’s going on – we’re back in give us your money but we won’t provide anything back territory. Also things like having a head of hospitality too before replacing with another who soon left, now we’re on our third external catering partner of the season. We’re also now on our third stadium manager of the season. Big song and dance about a link up with John Leggott, messing up the relationship with the Foundation and then nothing else heard about it. I’ve seen sweet FA promoting the stadium facilities which they want to make use of 24/7. It suggests to me a rocky boat without real direction.
