Many thanks for ridiculous child, made me laugh on a very frustrating day.
October 29, 2024 at 2:00 pm #292498Only Awaywego could turn a silk purse into a sows ear,
He’s not the only one with that ability, Butler’s giving it a good go.

October 29, 2024 at 2:04 pm #292500Definitely not. When you have the happy clapper Deerey and the like defending wanting to take a Ceo on then in the next breath tell us we can’t afford some more additions.
I thought everyone was in agreement that we had to many non playing staff on the books under Swann and the club needed sliming down, Hilton started the process but Michelle is turning it back into a job centre for all.
Be a right shit forum if we’re all on the same page. Who the f wants unity.October 29, 2024 at 2:05 pm #292502Improving a football team should be the same as with any other business. Hold onto your best performers, get rid of the under performers and replace them with better. In the case of SUFC that should apply to playing staff, management and all other aspects from media to catering and back of house processes.
Sometimes other businesses would need to let go of staff for monetary reasons, especially if they are faced with the short term nature of contracts. We can’t force players to stay and accept deals if they try their luck elsewhere. Also, other businesses generally wouldn’t involve writing people off or getting rid of them so quickly, and certainly not after a few months of meaningful work.

You’re the one to do the sliming are you?
October 29, 2024 at 2:19 pm #292505There’s volunteers removing that during the week…
October 29, 2024 at 2:24 pm #292506One fell swoop Apollo, any one employed under Swann here’s your cards.

Agreed, but usually you’d try and keep your best performers and look to make the saving on under performers or those that won’t be missed. (Lee Turnbull anyone?)
Clearly that’s an overly simplified summary and there’s many other factors to consider, particularly in football with transfer fees, contracts and so on. But the basic principle of any successful team should be to keep the best players and continually add improvements to the squad. We appear to have done the opposite, in losing our best players and acquiring ones that can’t make the team.
Also, other businesses generally wouldn’t involve writing people off or getting rid of them so quickly, and certainly not after a few months of meaningful work.
We didn’t hang around in getting shot of the catering chap?
October 29, 2024 at 2:30 pm #292508Fair, though if they cause too much friction there may have to be some early changes, and there was a reason I said ‘generally’.

October 29, 2024 at 2:52 pm #292510Lol awaywego, ‘happy clapper’. First time for everything I suppose. You’ve a short memory. I was anything but a HC during much of the Swann and Hilton eras, and with good reason I think. Just because I’m not knee jerking at any club action or perceived lack of action, doesn’t mean I’m applauding like a trained seal, as many did under Bodgeit & Scarper.

November 3, 2024 at 10:10 am #292817How long before Michelle decides the constant criticism is enough, sells up, and then goes back to being a fan like the rest of us?
We can then have a new board of
Max Bell(Chairman)
Danny Stamp
Andy Baraclough
Stuart MawLet’s see if they can do any better.

November 3, 2024 at 10:20 am #292820New CEO to take the load off I guess.
They’ve done a great job in such a short time and sure it’s taken its toll with or without criticism. Which is for sure not needed.
When is the CEO taking some of the strain?

November 3, 2024 at 12:11 pm #292838Not constant criticism Cliff, but enough for her to take to the Facebook group recently. A first. I would genuinely be interested to know what her thoughts were about some of the harsher criticisms about club affairs on here but have no wish to see it in print. Yes, CEO should be a much needed help. That’s why the post was created I guess? It’s a shame for one or two on here it has to be one or the other. The other being new players
November 3, 2024 at 12:38 pm #292839No, not one or the other, just priorities. There are about 4,000 fans that will choose players first and one owner (+board) for whom a CEO is a desperate need to lighten their load. Both needs are fully understandable but the 4,000 will see more benefit from new players hence the bias.

November 3, 2024 at 12:45 pm #292842How long before Michelle decides the constant criticism is enough, sells up
That was the argument about not criticising Hilton when he was fleecing the club and some used that as an excuse as to why he left and stopped paying staff. Yet some of the same people are happy to go into criticism of Michelle, which they would have said was “driving the saviour, Dave, away” over a year ago.
Criticism of Michelle is allowed, but it does highlight the absurdity of that argument with Hilton (and Swann, for that matter).

November 3, 2024 at 12:54 pm #292843I don’t understand why both can’t have equal priority Cass. I have said this previously
November 3, 2024 at 1:01 pm #292846For the Club they can, but 4,000 to 1 (5) is persuasive as (as far as we know) only representatives of the 4,000 post on here.

Feel like I missed something; removed myself from the Facebook group a short time ago after receiving brain rot reading the drivel on there.

November 5, 2024 at 10:39 am #292995Some posters post on both sites (not me)and some of them are well respected on here.
Tuther side more or less the same as bru for and against on most topics.
Imo Stu ruins it with all his posts and now he’s become holier than thou and seen the light and just wants everyone to be positive no matter what, after explaining what an a******* he’s being down the years to a certain extent , absolutely hate people who come across that way. Like a bloody Jehovah’s witness trying to push their religion on you. -
