I was waiting for someone to mention this, it seems most people on here are no longer interested in on the field related stuff and more bothered about the off field issues, which is all guess work and rumours. Nice to see a positive signing again though.

He’s given up his full time job as an accountant so any off field issues are obviously not bothering him.

Best signing so far according to what people have said on twitter. Lot of interest in him too but decided to come here !

Clunan, Beestin, Pugh, Shrimpton, rance and young Robertson. You think that’s enough to get us by ?

I missed Butterfield out because I can’t see him staying.

We should have signed an accountant years ago!

Swann wouldn’t have been interested, he’d be wanting to balance the books every season.

Swann wouldn’t have wanted to take the gamble.

Especially the turf accountants, cost him a fortune.

Clunan and Shrimpt could be a formidable partnership.

Oh dear! For those of us with limited football knowledge could you give us a clue what Shrimpton does. Is he a destructive, ball winning midfielder or a creative midfielder? I’ve seen little evidence of either but happy to be enlightened.

Probably too early to tell exactly what kind of midfielder he might end up being. I think an athletic box to box midfielder not afraid of a tackle is where he could get to if he continues to work hard. Think Yates but sadly not as good.

I would argue he was at least as effective this season as Hackney was for us last season. Hopefully he will improve a lot once he starts playing with some actual footballers – it’s certainly worked for Hackney.

I’m thinking more Dave Syers than Ryan Yates!

I like Shrimpton and playing him alongside a good midfielder in Clunan, he’ll come good. I’d say Shrimpton’s a bit of a mix, combative box to box midfielder ?

So a bit like Pugh? Runs around a lot without actually achieving much?

I’ll take National League version of either. I think is better prospect than Pugh but time will tell.
