£500,000 being touted. Was there a sell on clause does anyone know?

August 1, 2022 at 10:33 pm #241777Aww, gutted for the Cods if he leaves them…..🤣🤣🤣🤣

August 1, 2022 at 10:46 pm #241780Apparently so, would be fantastic to get some money for him just after Swann leaves…
August 1, 2022 at 11:05 pm #241782Doubt we will get a fee for him as he left on a free I think? Either way very surprising move.
August 1, 2022 at 11:09 pm #241783He didn’t leave on a free, it went to a tribunal

Loyalty??? Would you be loyal to your employer if a competitor at a much higher level knocked on your door with a lucrative pay rise and signing on fee in the offing?

August 2, 2022 at 7:02 am #241790Wondering if /what the sell on is? In one of those Swann interviews he says there was a ‘very healthy’ sell on for Mcatee but then a lot of people suggesting on twitter there isn’t one so I don’t know.
500k would be a good deal though, let’s face it he played a big part in getting us up and only has this year left on his deal so will walk away for nothing in the summer if he stays.

I was being more than a bit tongue in cheek.
August 2, 2022 at 8:42 am #241796What a shame we’re not going to be the ones getting that fee – if we’d not sacked Hurst, every chance we would still be in the Football League with McAtee scoring regularly and Town would still be in the Conference.

August 2, 2022 at 8:48 am #241800All fees set by tribunal include a sell on clause as far as I’m aware.
August 2, 2022 at 10:35 am #241809McAtee shows rare loyalty by staying on for another season, bringing in a dollop of cash for them and in the main because of one factor; Hurst.
The man sacked by Swann.Twist it how you want, it’s a(nother) good day for them, they’re not gurning, they’re rubbing their hands.2 users thanked author for this post.
August 2, 2022 at 11:40 am #241819I rang my cod pal this morning, the fee is six hundred thousand, with a 5% sell on clause if Luton get promoted.
Also Luton has loaned him back to the club for the rest of the season. Yes they are rubbing their hands with glee, because he will want to show Luton he can score goals in a higher league. This is all Swans fault for sacking Hurst. I see Alexandra is available now having being sacked. I am gritting my teeth with frustration what could have been.August 2, 2022 at 11:43 am #241820PS. He would have left on a free next summer if he had stayed.
August 2, 2022 at 1:10 pm #241828The chairman has stated it is less than £500k and it is a double digit percentage sell on.
Quite a decent deal for us, as he was out of contract at the end of the season. Think you will have a percentage of that, as is the normal case when we signed him off you in the tribunal.
Good luck in getting rid of Swann.August 2, 2022 at 2:25 pm #241835we do get a sell on I have asked Lee Turnbull

August 2, 2022 at 3:27 pm #241840Won’t that money effectively go to Swann though? Maybe an extra flat on the development, or another slip road?
August 3, 2022 at 10:16 am #241882Sick of hearing this guys name can we just move on and forget him and let him be someone’s else’s problem.
August 3, 2022 at 12:30 pm #241906we do get a sell on I have asked Lee Turnbull
It can’t be true Mick! Some bloke on Facebook says he has seen the deal sheet and it says that we don’t get a penny…

August 3, 2022 at 1:12 pm #241909I asked Lee and he said we did, so…
August 3, 2022 at 2:57 pm #241914He said/She said, was it ever thus on a football forum. Just give us the frigging money cod heads.

August 3, 2022 at 11:16 pm #241962Come on guys, if it was seen on Facebook it must be true, I heard from a bloke at the garage
August 3, 2022 at 11:19 pm #241963There’s a guy works down the chip shop….etc etc.
August 4, 2022 at 4:07 pm #242021Pleased for the lad to move on. He has the potential to be a decent player. With the Iron though I had the feeling that he thought he was better than he was.
August 5, 2022 at 11:55 am #242080After been loaned back to the Cods it seems he may be out for a few months with the veey strong possibility of shoulder surgery.
August 5, 2022 at 12:38 pm #242083He’s secured his move, this season will be a test of his attitude.
August 5, 2022 at 7:34 pm #242111His attitude is decent tbf, Hurst wouldn’t take a slacker and he would just be dropped (not even sure if he has the op he will even play for us much more anyway tbh) what sort of crowd are you expecting at the GP tomorrow? Will try and watch it after our game, hoping somewhere is showing it rather than the daft Epl if can get in somewhere in time after our game
August 6, 2022 at 1:11 pm #242157It’s all about the system.
Mc is a good, solid player. In a proper system, he obviously thrives.
Even Billy Sharp would struggle to score goals in Neil Cox system.August 6, 2022 at 2:21 pm #242162Tbf Hurst signed a slacker who’s attitude stunk at scunny, short changed our fans, but it happens at all clubs one time or another just leaves a bitter taste, hope he’s out for a long time for himself and for Grimsby.
