I’ve just read the article which Max Bell has written, just says it as it is. A really good honest article on the demise of our Club. One person has been making the decisions which have led to where we are now, looking likely to be relegated into oblivion. ONE PERSON, SWANN. If, as looking extremely likely, Scunthorpe United lose their league status after 72 years, the actions and ridiculous decisions of one man alone will be responsible for this. SWANN!!!!!!

January 20, 2022 at 4:45 pm #222178It’s been a while I guess they refused to uplift the Telegraph ban

January 20, 2022 at 5:05 pm #222179Never mind the telegraph ban at least Max Bell is speaking the truth. Why ban the telegraph anyway. They always gave a good report on Scunthorpe United previously under Bob Steeles. Bob spoke on Humberside several months ago and was very frank and honest and predicted our present situation if nothing changed. But the SWANN is the person who wants to take people to court if he disagrees with them, bans the press and falls out with North Lincs Council if he doesn’t get just what he wants when he wants it.

January 20, 2022 at 5:26 pm #222183banned to do with fees apparently.
January 20, 2022 at 5:30 pm #222184banned to do with fees apparently.
That’s one reason, wasn’t there something about the Telegraph refusing to pass on the name of a commenter on their stories? Not sure if that was ever resolved before the fees issue?

January 20, 2022 at 5:40 pm #222186should restore relationships with the Telegraph, a good 5 or more full pages of free advertising a week ,match reports ,pre .free promotion of events .It should be a symbiotic relationship in which both parties prosper for the benefit of fans.

January 20, 2022 at 5:41 pm #222187That is such an obvious idea, I can’t see why it hasn’t happened.

January 20, 2022 at 5:55 pm #222190it can when only run as a hobby
January 20, 2022 at 6:56 pm #222195I guess one man’s ego is probably the stumbling block, are we not surprised?

January 20, 2022 at 7:15 pm #222196Is Simon Elliot still helping to improve relationships? I recall seeing or hearing he was supposed to be.

January 20, 2022 at 7:34 pm #222200The evening telegraph is not relevant anymore, a once a week paper, you do realise that 99%? It can hardly keep up with news or promote, match reports at least 3 days after the event and if there’s 2 matches in a week even longer, back to 6 days and I’m in, it was always the place to announce funeral’s but lots don’t bother now because hardly anyone buys it and the once a week thing. The club put the news out on twitter, the club that has posted the most tweets by a football club anywhere in the world something we can all be proud of. We don’t need Max ( except as the fan he is) or the Evening telegraph.
January 20, 2022 at 8:19 pm #222206Actually Awaywego we need all the help we can get.

January 20, 2022 at 9:19 pm #222209That’s a joke saying the club put the news out! And as for the tweets, mainly just advertising and trying to get fans to part with their hard earned cash and then fans treated as morons and getting nothing in return. SWANN TELLS THE SUPPORTERS AS LITTLE AS POSSIBLE ABOUT CLUB MATTERS. Catering prices increased and told you can’t take you own drinks into the ground, no matchday programme, no scoreboard, toilets not fit for use, Swann then blaming the fans for his own bad decision making and bad player recruitment. I could go on and on. SWANN has certainly gone very quiet now, I guess he’s struggling to shift the blame onto someone else now for our present situation as the blame lies squarely on his shoulders and no-one else’s.
January 20, 2022 at 9:35 pm #222212I think I saw earlier on Twitter that it was getting sorted with the club and telegraph
January 20, 2022 at 9:42 pm #222214Something else that should have been done two years ago.

January 21, 2022 at 7:54 am #230070Max wrote well.
I was also really impressed with what Keith Hill wrote on the Iron website.
1) There are people you mistrust.
2) There are those whom you hope you can trust.
3) There’s the the ones where you want to give them a chance.
4) There are some you trust – but with a few reservations.
5) There are people you are prepared to trust. For me:
Keith Hill is a 5.
Neil Cox arrived as 3 and ended as a 1.
The Chairman arrived as a combined 2 and 3 and is now a 1.4 users thanked author for this post.
January 21, 2022 at 10:34 am #230086I have great respect for Simon Elliott and I am sure so do many Scunthorpe United fans, but if Swanns idea has been to bring Simon in to gain better relationships with supporters then it is a lost cause as I cannot see Swann changing his perspective on anything he does.
