972 in the Mickey mouse cup would be a good crowd.

    Cox and UTI99 – “That’s 3 unbeaten now”
    Alcazar – “Swann out”
Everybody else – ” Still no wins this season”

Just listened to the managers post-match interview which both amazed and disappointed me but explained a lot. He focussed on the fact that we led both home games and yet, due to inexperience, “failed to see the game out” His idea for doing this involved “taking throw ins slowly” and “staying down when fouled and moaning to the ref.” Can I throw another option into the mix Neil, how about trying to score another 1 or 2 (even 3) and see the game out that way.

Reflecting on yesterdays match my thoughts are thus:

The players seem to make poor decisions in the final third. There were several times in the first half where a little more composure would / could of seen us score a goal. Our defence fills me full of dread, too many simple mistakes that would of been punished by a better team.

It was clear to me that Sutton will be one of the teams fighting to avoid relegation. The fact that we couldn’t beat them, and indeed could of actually lost, tells me that we’re in for a long fight again this season!

Match thoughts – we were crap, Sutton were crap but better than us…and without some good saves from Watson and them missing absolute sitters we could have easily lost by 3 or 4!

When we went to Wimbledon pre-season we not only scored two goals but also saw out the game.

The only conclusion I can come up with is that for league games Cox has put the fear of losing into the squad.

It’s Wilcox time once more, only with worse players.

Will we ever see attacking football again?

I’ll throw this out there for attacking football – Gary McSheffrey as manager.

Now I’m not advocating a change although 15 without a win suggests certain pressure will be building – Gary is well liked, looking for a route in and comes across as very knowledgable – hell he might even get KDT firing on one cylinder. Cox is limited and he is trying just not to get beat at the minute – all very pie in the sky stuff I know

Only thing is you can talk about attacking football but when we haven’t got any defensive midfield players and hardly no decent fit strikers it’s a bit of a long shot.

I do however notice that every time we get in the lead we tend it sit back and inevitably concede, always been the same under Cox.

    Cox reminds me of Wilcox.

One Loft is back, he and Scrimshaw will cause a lot of teams problems in league 2. Out wide and especially CM currently is a big worry for me.

I’d honestly stick Beestin upfront with Scrimshaw and stick a loan defensive midfielder alongside Perry in a 4/4/2. I can’t believe I’m saying this but I’d play Hippolyte LW and Green on the right.

I don’t think Green adds anything on the left with Davis and Manny as the 2 CB’s with Thompson and Pugh “until Millen is fit” as Full backs.

I hate this formation we’re playing now, it’s awful. I can understand why he’s done it though with no defensive midfielder fit..as soon as he get’s one though he wants to be changing it.

Will he be brave enough though ?

I still think Thompson or O’Malley in LM would be better than Green or Hippo. Don’t rate Bunn then WG?
