Remember him? Everyone gave him such a hard time at Scunny. Now he has got Coventry City into the FA Cup semi final, where they will play Man United at home. He went straight there from The Iron too.

    Wembley isn’t their home ground.

I don’t remember everyone giving him a hard time but I do remember him leaning on the dugout roof with folded arms looking like the most disinterested person in the ground most of the time!

I was never impressed by him. His communication skills were poor.

I think the attitude of Robin’s looking disinterested was probably due to him being a Swann choice. We now know life under Swann as a manager can’t have been easy, knowing you really weren’t in charge of things as you would ideally like as a manager.

Hard to think of a more underwhelming Iron manager. Not bad, not good, just entirely underwhelming. I can barely remember a single game under his reign.

It’s great that he’s found such a good marriage at Coventry, occasionally you find clubs that just “fit” players/managers and they are so much more successful there than anywhere else. Good luck to him.

I remember a midweek match under him, very cold, very underwhelming. We were housed in a seated side stand. Rochdale maybe? It was very dull. Think he left shortly after.

Don Rowing was speaking highly of him on the Facebook group I noticed. He suggested, implicitly, his lack of success at GP was down to the owner at the time.

I vaguely remember a decent start and then he signed (or had signed for him?) a load of new players in the January and the team was never the same again.

I can remember him continually chopping and changing the team(a bit like what the current manager has been doing), nicknamed him “Championship Manager” at the time, if the game wasn’t going well for you after 6 months, you start a new one.

He then goes to Coventry who have no money and he’s pulled them up, fair play to him.

He left, Alexander came in and we drastically improved. Hardly a great loss was it?

Nobody was talking about him last week, or for the last 5 years or so.

He was not a good manager @ Scunny. He has done very well at Coventry. These things happen.

100% bob on.. i thought Robins was poor at Scunny that said was appointed by and working with a nail in his boot in Swan n Co and it appears he has /is doing a great job at Coventry obviously under different circumstances and budget so credit where its due on that score.
    i much preferred Alexander.
