Anyone seen, heard or heard mentioned Mark? The once flag bearing club loving assistant manager of our team that is in dire straits has not said a peep for months that i know of. A little tub thumping rouse from Mark might at least give us some belief that somewhere someone cares. But no nish, nada and silence instead. Why? Not allowed or not bothered? Where is the passion from anyone involved at our club?

August 25, 2021 at 6:56 am #212546Mark Lillis still as passionate about the game and scunny as ever, always prepared to have a word at the training ground, and especially makes the effort with the grandkids, evidently he was in the Royal last Friday and gave quite a lot of his time talking football with fans, and still does his day job.

I think the passion is in Blackpool building site!
August 25, 2021 at 12:40 pm #212571He was on the pitch on Saturday Andrew helping with the warm-up, did you not go? What do you want him to do?

August 25, 2021 at 1:02 pm #212574Easier to rev the team and players up in public for a match when things are going well. But he would look a bit daft doing it with this bunch. Like supporters, he is waiting and waiting for them to show some spirit and inspiration that’s worth revving up.
August 25, 2021 at 1:28 pm #212575He was also on the pitch last night putting them through their paces before the game.
But when you’re hands are tied the management bear the brunt.1 user thanked author for this post.

well. Inspire the team, draw some inner inspiration and at least put his head above the press parapet? I’m a season ticket holder so of course i was there. I’m not blaming Lillis for our performances, but he’s part of the reason for sure. We hear the same old blather from Cox, would be nice to at least have some quotes or offerings from Lillis. Giving us insights into how we will change the current situation.
August 26, 2021 at 8:14 pm #212654I’m sure he’s adding something behind the scenes, e.g training and what not but I’m firmly in your camp. Cox has proven to be rubbish tactically, some may say clueless and not really sure what he’s bringing to the table in that respect.
I’ve said many times that I’d like somebody who’s a bit more current, as in not dragged from a care home where he’d been completely out the game for I don’t know how many years.
Cox needs somebody who’s good tactically, experienced but not experienced to such an extent where he’s potentially over the hill or burnt out.
If that makes sense.
August 26, 2021 at 8:16 pm #212655We’ve added two new coaches over the summer.
What are they bringing to the table?
August 26, 2021 at 8:22 pm #212656They don’t really come into it as they’re new additions. Lillis has been here longer and was part of that shit show last season.
I may be wrong but not quite sure he’s bringing a lot to the table, besides kicking a football about in training.
If Cox is bouncing ideas off Lillis though in terms of tactics then something is being lost in translation somewhere.
