Can’t see much movement with the starting 11 after Saturday; not a clue about Marine other than they supposedly have Bobby grant playing for them.
If they decide to sit back and allow us time on the ball it will be interesting to see if Butler is able to tactically respond to where Dean often struggled.
A tight win and a healthy crowd is my prediction:
2-1 4776
August 14, 2024 at 5:49 pm #289487See their manager is called Neil Young, let’s hope we are all Rocking in the Free World after a thumping home win. 4-0 to the Iron

Oh no surely Farage isn’t attending on Saturday.

After The Goal Rush etc etc
August 15, 2024 at 1:02 pm #289520If Grant plays as well as he did when he was here there’s nothing to fear.
August 15, 2024 at 2:09 pm #289523Bobby Grant is on a select list of Iron players who I actively disliked. Had a tremendous shot on him but unfortunately that was all he ever wanted to do rather than pass to teammates.
August 15, 2024 at 5:30 pm #289527I reckon no Iron fan liked him as much as he did himself
August 15, 2024 at 6:24 pm #2895283-0 Scunny
August 16, 2024 at 12:52 pm #289537I think we’ll cruise to another 3-0 win and my guess for the attendance will be 4371 with 96 away following.
August 16, 2024 at 1:55 pm #289540With 99.9% of SUFC fans predicting a big win tomorrow ( some crazy scores on the Fans FB page)
i hope the Iron dont under estimate Marine as they are an excellent well organized outfit… it seems the manager is drilling this into the players and must say another balanced interview by AB.Looking forward to see the starting line up tomorrow and also if necessary his in game system and adapting of tactics depending on how Marine choose to set up and play.
Over 5k would be great but cant see that , and im sticking with my very unpopular tight 1-0 win.
August 16, 2024 at 7:19 pm #289551Marine are a decent side well organised enough to beat Macclesfield in the playoffs however still think 3-0 Iron 4487 including 136 away fans.
New kits are great home by personal favourite.
All the work by the volunteers around the club needs applauding.
Hopefully we finish ONE place higher than last season UTI1 user thanked author for this post.

Hopefully we finish ONE place higher than last season UTIAgree entirely ..
hope the volunteers are announced by name before KO or at half time.
Kits are all awesome…home also my fav but the third is a very close second .. strange really as the yellow was the last shirt i bought and wore it at Wembley 99 before emigrating.
Fingers crossed the Iron can nail top spot ..its gonna be along hard season and IMO the NLN is increasing quality wise by the year so every missed year makes it harder.. i think there could well be a coupe of surprise packages this season in the mix with the favourites already predicted by many.
I have watched a few YT NLN prediction vids and most have Scunny top 2.. except one rather strange chap Rams?? who has Needham Mkt as champs and Scunny 18th and the reasons he gave for this low place were astounding , obviously knows naff all about the current SUFC as opposed to the old version turmoil n all, even reckons AB is out his depth !! .. we shall see.Hope all attending have a great day , always special first home game of a season fingers crossed for another 3 points come 5pm.

August 17, 2024 at 12:23 pm #289569Quick prediction before I set off for GP. I’m following my heart this time after the surprise result last week and going for 4-1 Iron. Danny Whitehall hat-trick… time for him to get the monkey off his back. UTI!

Any monkey on Whitehall’s back will be entirely of his own making, he just needs to get his finger out and do his job, hope he gets a hat trick too BTW.
August 17, 2024 at 2:46 pm #289580Us 5-1 Them

Why not?
Let’s get at ‘em!August 17, 2024 at 3:46 pm #2895831 nil. Perfect timing! Woo-hoo!

I didn’t like him in Brookside either!
August 17, 2024 at 5:45 pm #289585Poor first half really albeit the goal, though Beestin and Roberts were playing really well, second half much better albeit the ref deffo penalty on Beestin my man of the match, Whitehall stepped up second half took his goal well great cushion back for fishy, made himself a menace like he does.
Great to see and seemed like they were all really enjoying themselves 2 goals from route one. Fitz’s distribution was pretty poor till it mattered then the ball to Danny sublime. The team looks so much better at the moment long may it continue.1 user thanked author for this post.

August 17, 2024 at 6:24 pm #289588Good win against a decent team, who will probably be midtable at the end of the season based on their performance today. The sort of team we struggled to break down last season, so I am pleased we had a convincing win. Butler’s plan to boost fitness seems to be working so far, as I think that was a key difference towards the end as Marine tired.
Roberts is struggling at centre attacking mid and Whitehall took his goal well, but his overall play needs improving. Struggling with headers, strength, passing and controlling the ball. That goal showed his strengths in finishing, but with Beestin playing like that and Carlton waiting in the wings, he needs to be more consistent throughout the game. I like Nicholson and Clunan seems to be stepping it up.

August 17, 2024 at 6:26 pm #289589Saw their manager walking off at the end looking a bit crestfallen, I shouted ” hey Neil it’s just one game Don’t Let It Bring You Down “. Last music link on this topic honest
