Well done to our nearest and dearest rivals up the A180.
Got rid of a toxic chairman, shelved unaffordable unrealistic new ground plans for the time being.
Appointed a half decent manager who knew the club, lower EFL leagues and the National League.
Allowed him to sign decent players permanently or bring in loan players with lots of potential at their own clubs.
Galvanised and excited the support with a good brand of attacking football which got behind the team and help drive it to promotion. Whilst not telling it to stay away because of COVID.
They were a year ago where we are now, I wonder what the claret and blue picture will be in a year’s time.
Oh and the chairman stayed very much in the background letting the football do the talking.
They’ve done very well to get out of a very difficult league (in the positive direction) at the first attempt.
Bravo!
Definitely not.
Love is pushing it a bit but certainly a really good achievement from the new owners, Paul Hurst, the players and the fans who deserve it after a long period of suffering under toxic ownership.
Hopefully we can emulate them once our similar ownership issue is resolved.
Thought for a moment Jack Smethurst and Rudolph Walker had resumed pleasentaries 😂
In a way they have!
The downside being the Telegraph at the moment.
Nothing on the Iron whatsoever, whilst the same paper gets excited by a new shoelace sponsor or their players turning up to the opening of a bag of chips.
Not bitter about their success at all, just can’t see the carousel of shit we are on at the moment ever stopping.
I had £3 on the Cods getting promotion at 18/1 – it numbed the disappointment slightly.
Telegraph online-just looking myself earlier. Can’t believe how long ago the last feature was. Weren’t relations with them supposed to be on the mend? Or has that stalled now Simon Elliott has gone?

Better odds than one of your other big bets I suppose.
Always on your mind.
Thanks for your kind words that can’t have com easily after the last few years you’ve had.
I can’t believe we won the play offs, none of us expected it , we thought we’d be stuck down here for years like the last time. It just goes to show what a change of ownership can do, it really has galvanised our club. I hope you get yours soon .
