    From the Facebook Group:

‘Would anybody be interested if I could sort out a question answers with the iron players,to see who is at fault for this current junk which we are watching’

If that’s not a joke, it ought to be.

Everything you’ve mentioned is a joke: The Facebook page, those comments and the players.

Well I see the percentage game is going again on there. ‘95% of supporters agree with me’. Lol, gotta love the science involved. Bit like the Hilton era again when 99.9% of fans supported him, apparently, and would have fathered his children, given the opportunity.

Your record for sniffing out BS is fuddled wouldn’t you say? Remember why you went crying to the cult page?

A bit like the 97% of all Scientists who have now settled that we’ve entered the age of ‘global boiling.’ :) I’m not 100% sure about Butler or the Climate. And that survey WAS rigorously conducted.

Not really, unless you expect a gynaecologist to be able to do brain surgery because they are doctors much like brain surgeons.

Expecting expertise in climatology from an astronomist is like playing Whitehall as centre back and expecting the best performance.

I probably missed my chances, especially given I seemed to mix up astronomer with the pseudoscientific astrologist in a hybrid spelling.

Lol, got them pining for a Southern League Manager again.

Well the rumour in South Lincs is Peterborough United’s owner wants to sell up(i was at the game and Posh were shoite) so Spalding’s money man might be able to buy the team he really wants?
And their manager leaves another team in a Financial Sinkhole.

Or like appointing a football player with no real management experience to be a football manager. Hmmmm.

I suspect 99% of football managers were a football player with no management experience when they got their first management gig.

Fair point MK but is their first gig one with a remit of ‘promotion is a must’ and would they be given a two year contract from a club with limited financials resources to make pay offs?

    Fair point yourself.

I would have cleared out all of Dean’s gang and searched for someone with some demonstrable record of success at National League level on a 12 month contract. Improved contract with promotion and bye bye if not.

Oxford, Warrington & Farsley are the only teams in NLN to change manager during 2024-25, so far.

Sam Cox at Oxford was picking up 0.67 pts per game – his replacement, Ross Jenkins is picking up 1.36 ppg.

Mark Beesley, Warrington 1.00 ppg – Paul Carden, successor, 1.08 ppg

Clayton Donaldson, Farsley 1.50 ppg – Pav Singh, successor, 0.70 ppg

Their last game in charge was on match day 8, 8 & 6 respectively.

Agree an experienced manager who knows and has had success at this level and the one above is needed. I’ve said previously, being an ok player plus doing a coaching badge course, doesn’t automatically give one the skill set required for management. What we’ve seen thus far, and the fact he was fired from the Donny belles, would indicate Butler does not possess the necessary skills.

Bizarre team choices with majority playing out of position, baffling substitutions, poor tactics no matter how much ‘homework’ we’ve allegedly done, coaching good players into average/poor ones, fixation on fitness over football, inability to identify players to improve the squad, inability to convince our best players to stay*, poor media skills, poor communication skills, low IQ, unwilling to learn, unwilling to accept responsibility for poor performances, unable to handle warranted criticism, the list goes on…

But most critical to his unsuitability for the job, is his complete inability to read the game and make the necessary adjustments, both during the match or even (after the ‘reviewing and reflecting’ we hear so much about) for the next match. His lack of ability to read the game is further highlighted by the staggering post match interviews which more times than not have many of us questioning whether we have entered some alternate universe and watched an entirely different match. Extended contract or not he has to go.

*and no that doesn’t just come down to money, sometimes the players have to believe in the manager / prospects for success and I’m sure those that departed are thinking ‘thank fook’ after Saturday’s abomination.

You could have saved your self a bit of time 414 – no, he doesn’t have to go and probably won’t be doing soon.

‘low IQ’? You know this to be fact I assume? You really know how to hit below the belt don’t you. Give your vitriol and frothing a rest man. Show some dignity.

You keep repeating yourself aswell btw. Are you using ChatGPT?

I guess my posts are repetitive because we’re having the same debates week in week out with the same problems and no change forthcoming from our inept manager. I’m not tech-savvy enough for chat-gpt but if repetition is the symptom of such a device maybe butler is using it to write his post match pressers.

414, for whatever reason the current team under Butler are not doing as well as expected. Ultimately if he fails or when whatever losses or league position triggers the clubs get out clause, then he will probably lose his job. It’s football, Butler knows how it works you don’t need to be personally insulting to a man who played over 100 games for our club in a much better period and in all other respects is held in high esteem by most supporters of Scunthorpe United.

Of course he has to be personally insulting, that’s his brief that’s his agenda and has been for some time.
