Did a great job at Trafalgar with only one arm.
Let’s see what this Nelson can do with his one arm only tied behind his back.
Not expecting a great victory so I won’t be disappointed.

Topics: 80With only a ‘half Nelson’ at the helm, the Magpies will steal the shiny three points and Victory will be down the Trent.
Keep one eye on Saturday’s odds:
0-4 16/1
0-5 33/1
0-6 65/1We ain’t ‘Redoubtable’ and will be ‘Suffren’ defeat again.
We’ll be ‘Striking Our Colours’ before half-time’Rumour has it, that a new ‘Nelson’s Column’ formation will be deployed.
A 2-2-2-2-2 line up to take the game to them right down the middle of the park. The battle for the sunbeds at Cape Trafalgar cost Horatio his life on the poop deck of Victory.
Will ‘Michael’s men’ metaphorically lay down their lives for him on the beach of the former Sands Venue Stadium?
Napoleon was a monkey.
A decade later, Wellington (Battle of Waterloo) said:
“My heart is broken by the terrible loss I have sustained in my old friends and companions and my poor soldiers. Believe me, nothing except a battle lost can be half so melancholy as a battle won.”
How will we look back in a decades time?

His SOS initials seem appropriate.

Holidayed on the Spanish battery last year, the statue of Lord C was virtually in the garden.

Nelson probably not the best analogy then considering he liked sinking things. 😂

It’s going to be a long, cold December!December 3, 2022 at 4:01 pm #249861Setting up at HT to consolidate a 3-1 loss, definately not the man for the managers job. Get someone in who is interested in trying to play attacking entertaining football.

December 3, 2022 at 4:02 pm #249862Got to go I’m afraid. With a game plan of sitting back and letting them play their passing game.
What a Wally!

December 3, 2022 at 4:21 pm #24986390 minutes trying to stop a steamroller then you get thrown under a bus by your new manager.
I will give him the benefit of more than 1 game but I would take issue with Nelson on 3 things for starters.
1. Playing 5 at the back whilst also playing Apter behind 2 forwards leaves you with 2 midfielders against on that showing the best footballing side in the league. Not the smartest of tactics which allowed them to pass through the middle at will. Did nothing to address the rather obvious issue during the game. Felt sorry for Beeston and Butterfield who were on a hiding to nothing.
2. Playing Ogle out of position after a longish injury break obviously did not work. Got absolutely roasted in the first half when County got through us down the right at will. 2 left backs on the bench but nothing got changed.
3. No problem with giving the players a roasting in the dressing room after the game but not sure it helps to continue it into your press interview. He claimed he was being honest. Sounded a bit like the players are all shit and it’s not my fault they can’t or won’t do what I tell them. Maybe Daws was a bit soft with the players but did that opinion need airing on the radio?
He was obviously emotional which proves he cares which is at least more than Hill ever demonstrated but he has work to do if he is going to be here after the takeover is finalised.
December 3, 2022 at 4:29 pm #249866Nelson said in his pre match interview that they were a good passing team well he had no answer to it. Practice game for Nottingham, we don’t stop crosses,no on field leadership, heads dropped after they equalised,..Midfield overrun, 3-1 down at halftime and still plays five across the back, only one I could give credit to was beestin.Sadly nothing on bench to change things, men versus boys

Oh dear, the lily livered snowflake generation don’t deal with criticism well.
He’ll have already ‘lost’ the dressing room.
Even when they are s4it, you have to look for the positives with this overly sensitive groups of individuals.1 user thanked author for this post.
December 3, 2022 at 11:19 pm #249907The team was set up totally wrong today which allowed Notts County so much space to play and we set up to their advantage. Listening to the aftermatch interview by Nelson i’ve never heard so much rubbish spoken in all my life, the man sounds clueless and then to top it all he criticises the players on the radio. This should have been kept in the dressing room. He sounds so unprofessional. Can’t imagine the players will enjoy his tenure, let’s hope its a really short one. Hope the sale of our SUFC goes through smoothly and quickly with Simon and Ian and the consortium, then look forward to a new decent manager.

Groin issue – injured – protecting him (?) – on the bench.
Injured players on the bench?
