Some performance that. Abit more luck infront of goal could have easily had 3 points. Credit to daws for changing the formation. Really looked like it suits us.
That front 3 will cause problems in the league. Thought Butterfield Rowe and ogle had decent games too. Another good few stops for Dewhurst. Really do this this side should be a lot higher if you take all the problems behind the scene away.
4/5 games coming up against sides around us. Hopefully confidence is picking up with a few better performances 🙏
Also well done to daws for not changing it during the game. Could see we was growing into it more and more.
Well done lads 👍

September 17, 2022 at 5:40 pm #245123I wouldn’t say the team have found their mojo yet but I think they may have spotted it in the distance.

September 17, 2022 at 6:24 pm #245127I have to wonder about Feeny. I do believe him to be one of our better players. So is he not match fit? Feeling his age or what?

Too slow, agility, mobility, athleticism?
Happens to us all.September 17, 2022 at 7:05 pm #245130Really enjoyed today!!!
We played all the football and York looked very average for the majority of the game.
The front 3 were fantastic and on another day they would have all been on the score sheet.
There were 11 men of the match today, no weak links.
Credit to Daws for great game management.
My only issue was with the officials, I thought the ref was a shocker.5 users thanked author for this post.
September 17, 2022 at 7:36 pm #245132Yeah ace things are looking up (as they do when you’re bottom)
September 17, 2022 at 7:42 pm #245134Getting a bit silly?
So much better we rescued one point in the 88th minute and STILL have less than 1/5 of the points we’ve played for.
I’m going to hang fire on praising them up until we can actually win a game or two, and maybe get out of the relegation places.5 users thanked author for this post.
September 17, 2022 at 7:50 pm #245136Massive improvement, the only thing we got from the ref was the disallowed goal, I thought theirs was a penalty but a freak one, also thought York’s strip was one of the worst I have seen

Today was the best 90 minute performance for as long as I can remember2 users thanked author for this post.
September 18, 2022 at 1:24 am #245142First game I’ve been since we dropped down to the national league. Thought the standard of football was pretty poor compared to league Two. We just about edged it and to be honest, it would have been a travesty if we had lost. If York are one of the better teams in this league than, we should have enough about us to avoid the drop. We don’t seem to have much strength in depth, hence the lack of substitutions, which is a worry. I was impressed with Apter who seemed to have a bit of raw quality about him and I thought the often maligned Nuttall had a decent game.
September 18, 2022 at 1:56 am #245143its now pretty clear looking at all the results for all teams in the NL over a few weeks and without sounding too daft any team can beat another on any given day .. its a very difficult league to play in and even nailing down obvious title chasers and relegation candidates isnt easy ..very very unpredictable with lots of inconsisttancy .. Aldershot 5 – Halifax 1 ??? as example
BTW 37xx plus crowd .. did York bring a good few ?
September 18, 2022 at 10:33 am #245148also thought York’s strip was one of the worst I have seen
C’mon Mick, surely you remember their infamous Y-Fronts strip from the 70s?
September 18, 2022 at 12:14 pm #245156That was better than yesterday’s, but was bad enough, York have had some nice strips but some awful ones as well.

Today was the best 90 minute performance for as long as I can rememberGod help us then.
If that’s the best we can offer, and it results in us rescuing one point two minutes from time, at home, we’re done for.And no, I wasn’t there.
When I said I’d never go again while the fat tw@ is owner, I meant it.

A 3,500 crowd(with 1200 away fans and 400 free tickets given out), and a point. All hail the Coffee Club, we’re on our way back to the Championship.
September 19, 2022 at 1:49 pm #245187I was there and we were certainly better York, it’s just the finishing.
Even Taft put in some towering headers.September 19, 2022 at 5:26 pm #245188Good battling and no defensive mistakes leading to a goal and by that I mean actual defenders.
Was surprised to see Rowe as a RWB but he did pretty good to be fair.
Ogle in a back 3 is perfect for the other 2 with his pace!
Front 3 caused problems all match I feel as though Marsh could’ve had a goal if he didn’t try get inside the 6 yard box.
Not sure what is up with Beestin better from him but still not offering enough and seems to of lost so much pace.
I know we was on top but felt like a substitute would’ve helped, I think Feeney is best used as an impact sub and I’d of brought him on for Marsh/Beestin.
September 20, 2022 at 6:33 am #245197I would not have given Beestin a new contract.
He’s always played in patches. Capable of disappearing for quarter of an hour at a time.
Another one of those players who can fool some supporters by the excellent stuff which he puts together in occasional two minute bursts.
I have never yet seen a 90 minute performance from him.
And yes, I haven’t forgotten about his long covid issue.3 users thanked author for this post.
September 20, 2022 at 8:22 am #245204I have to wonder about Feeny. I do believe him to be one of our better players. So is he not match fit? Feeling his age or what?
Have we seen anything from him since he arrived, really?
I’m not a massive fan of Beestin either – good in possession, often seems to be lacking out of possession.
Apter looks a really exciting player, just a shame he’s yet another loanee.
September 20, 2022 at 8:28 am #245205We are missing an on field captain someone who can rally the players. None of the senior players seem able to fit the bill
September 20, 2022 at 9:33 am #245207Agree that we need more on field captains. No disrespect to Feeny, but he is not going to do it from the bench. Maybe Butterfild or even Nuttall?

September 20, 2022 at 10:48 am #245208I don’t like to see forwards or GKs as captains.

September 20, 2022 at 11:05 am #245209I think Rowe will make a good captain one day.

New ‘nickname’ – Pig Iron.
Could introduce a Muppet angle which is appropriate for the last few seasons.
