Chapman – makes such a massive difference having a big keeper you can hear.

Ogle – quality as always. So good with the ball at his feet and going past players.

Everton richards – won everything in the air. Well timed sliding tackles. Maybe at fault for not leaving the ball for the keeper for their second. Overall very good.

Boyce – seemed more confident with another centre back. Do think will smith will come in tho.

Leake. Handled their winger very well most the game. Very soild.

Pugh – works hard always getting stuck in. Good to see him making some decent forward runs. Unlucky not to score.

Beestin – looked a different player today. Was everywhere.

Bunker – was everywhere. Looks a cracking player. So composed on the ball. Very good feet too. Some find that.

Butterfield. My man of the match. His passing and vision is a level above this league. And shown with better players around him.

Wilson – cracking goal. If that was in the prem would be talked about for ages. Does go missing from time to time tho.

Elliot – for sure is an improvement to what we had. Made some good runs first half. Pressed really well at times too.

Lastly Jimmy Dean – was so refreshing to see a manager taking attacking players off for attacking players. Not sitting back when infront. Looking to build on the lead. Can’t help but like the guy

Several candidates for MOTM. I thought Bunker and Butterfield were outstanding and Ogle/Beestin were very good. I still think the left back is going to be a weak link between now and the end of the season.

When did we have two full backs in the same team with excellent long throws? Everton-Richards came up a couple of times in the second half when Ogle launched two of his ” rocket” throws into the Dagenham box from the East Stand side. Good as some corners and we must utilize these guys throwing potential with the height and power we now have in the team be it big strong centre backs or the big guy up front ( when fit ) causing mayhem in the opposition area

Cannot disagree with any comments on this thread, it was a fantastic team performance, Butterfield was my MOM, far too good for this level.

Dagenham were pants. Everything is in place but some of this love for the manager is a bit too soon. Don’t get me wrong he’s
got all the qualities to be great for us but some of the fawning on social media is a little premature. Now if he keeps us up he can have the keys to the town…..

I understand your hesitancy Ia and, of course, your point is valid. Looking at the other side, having a manager that looks as if he wants to play football to entertain the fans (and hopefully win games) is something we’ve been waiting a long time for.
Consequently I can also understand what might be premature over enthusiasm. Let those that want to wollow in their own optimism do so for as long as it lasts. Time will telland. UTI and come on Jimmy!!

Spot on CT – I’m not anti-Jimmy by any means but some fans want to bear his children – we give suspect players/managers 10 games lets do the same for messianic ones.

It’s social media. Of course it’s disproportionate.

Way of the world in 2023 I’m afraid.

The whole team put in a shift but for me, Butterfield had an absolute stormer of a match…he was everywhere!

I think the sheer enthusiasm of Jimmy during and in particular after the match, coming all around the field, not just part of it, pumping his fists in celebration of a great win and applauding the fans, is just great. Aren’t these the sort of actions the majority have been waiting for in a manager? Remember all the observations around some of the last few mangers, the Knills, the Robins, the Hills, stood there arms folded showing no passion in the dugout or on the touchline, well none of that appears to apply to Jimmy. I think he’s a breath of fresh air, long may this feeling continue.

I don’t think Dean’s arms would allow him to keep them folded for very long.

The only person showing passion and connection with the fans in recent years was Cliffy.

I thinkthat this new owner, manager, coaches and the new players have brought a breath of fresh air into our club. We have all been down for far too long, and how these new people have transformed the feelings of supporters is top class, in fact my feelings of being dead and burried have changed some what, and I am very glad to change my feelings now that Swann and his crew have now left the club, why the hell didn’t heleave four years ago.

So the avaerage gates have now gone up to over 4,000 from 2,100, so that surely tells it’s own story, so give these guys all the credit that they deserve, and leave the negative views out of it, there is time if needed when they are called for, so please enjoy the new change in your match day experience and try and forget the Swanns, Hill and Coxes depressing years.

UP THE IRON Tomorrows forcast is WREXHAM 1 SCUNTHORPE 1.
