The club statement says the chanting was unacceptable and abhorrent and it is. Spending 11.5 million then taking the ground as compensation is equally unacceptable and abhorrent.

The announcement on Tuesday over the tannoy came immediately after fans chanted ” we want our club back”. I personally did hear not hear racist or homophobic comments though I did hear the chanting later on at the away female physio.

I am all for letting Ernest know what we think about his ‘ground rob’ but don’t give him an excuse to try and turn it back on us!

ironking—- you are completely correct in what you say, there is no wonder whatsoever that fans chanted about wanting our club back, what does Swann expect that fans will just accept the terrible thing that Swann has done and just contiue turning up as if nothing has happened, it must be accepted that most of that debt has resulted in the Chairmans running of the club over the past five or six years. As far as the chanting, I was not there, but I have been informed that the Donny Road lads were chanting “get your tits out for the boys”, this is normal, and will have happened at every ground in the country, normally the young lady involved just laughs it off, which would probably have been the case against Sutton, it is DEFINITELY normal.

And regarding you not hearing any racists chants, I would bet my pension that it was because there wasn’t any, if there had been, there would certainly have been a comment on this forum from Deerey, and I have not see one.

But this club statement is just to try and distract away from what are the proper problems, and ground, car park and training pitch land is possibly the main one, although there must be a big worry regarding attendance figures of 2,500 gates for early season matches, just wondering what gates will be in Jan / Feb, but again this will be the supporters fault, and no blame whatsoever on the way things are run, or how the team is performing.

Only time will tell, but there are some worrying times ahead for SUFC, I cannot remember ever being such bad feelings between management and supporters in my 70 years of being a Scunny supporter, and a club statement aiming all blame onto fans certainly will not help the situation.

Sorry BS – I can’t approve of any woman having to undergo that kind of treatment.
    Pig ignorance is pig ignorance.

I may not be PC in any way but I believe that demonstrable racism, provable sexism, malicious ageism etc are all totally unacceptable.
    Pig ignorance is pig ignorance.

    Definitely pig ignorant.

Agree Lesgeo. Might have been “normal” back in the 70’s but it wasn’t even vaguely funny even then.

The suggestion that the victim of the abuse is somehow to blame for not getting the joke is hopefully a joke in poor taste.

Banter is an important part of the fan experience at football matches! All humour involves some level of poking fun at someone else! Instead of caring about the hurt feelings of stuck up humourless bores we should celebrate our ability to take ourselves less seriously! We shouldn’t let the snowflakes ruin harmless fun!

Libtards want to control our lives, including what we find funny! I best most women would laugh their arse off if fans were chanting “get your tits out for the lads” at them! They probably would find it flattering! What woman doesn’t want to be found attractive?! And that lass for Swindon had some fine knockers!

What abusive songs at football matches whatever next, if you go to a football match be prepared to be offended, Luke Chadwick got abuse every match just for been pig ugly, the Harry Maguire song is pure class, there only songs not really sung to cause of offense, Ps you will also hear plenty of foul language at football, if offended vote with your feet.

You cannot find too many folks less PC than me, BJ.
But, forgetting all the tired modern labels – there is something we used to call ‘decency’.
Having ‘a larf’ at someone else’s expense is bullying.
‘Banter’ is what happens only between mates & family you know for certain can take it. If just one feels uncomfortable in a group – it is wrong.
(As a former teacher how many bollockings have I issued over years to gobby, bullying teens who claim that their nastiness is ‘just a bit of banter, sir’.)
Yes – I know there are people out there whose sensitivities can border the ridiculous who can be a real pain – but we must try to live with one another.
‘Love thy neighbour’ takes a bit of beating.
Do I practise what I preach?
Please list all the personal insults I’ve used on Bru over the last decade or so.

    Herd instinct.

Most blokes would never use such language in a one to one situation. But put them in with a dozen or more like-minded souls who have had a few lagers pre-match, and they turn into Jim Davison!

    Terrible thing drink!

Les, you have probably answered your own question pal, when you say that you have corrected many teen for things that they have obviously said, in my opiniom there is a big difference to being at school and being at a football match, I know yiu did not make reference about being at school, things certainly point in that direction.
Fans singing “get yourtits out for the boys is heard at other sports, when a nice young thing comes onto the sceen, normally the lady will just smile or laugh and take it as a compiment, I have never seen any take offence. I am sure you will agree that it is just banter and can be laughed off, and certainly not anything that requires an announcement on the club tanoy system.

Puts our fans misdemeanors into perspective when you hear that 2 Donny fans were impersonating an autistic Rotherham fan stimming. Bloody scum.

Haven’t got any Alcazar, but then I don’t walk around with a supply of them. I assume you do realise that ‘humour’ doesn’t necessarily imply ‘joke’? I know you’re a fan of that gobs*** Belfield who’s one trick is to get cheap and low laughs from anyone he decides to pick on, often women I’ve noticed (does he have a small chap he’s embarrassed about?) but have you ever heard of observational humour?

Those Donny fans sound like top geezers! Cracking humour! Makes me proud to be English! We are renowned for our sense of humour! Snowflake libtards crying about this need to lighten up and laugh about life instead of chastising the working class for poking a bit of fun at the world!

OK Alkazar, how about this one:- I visited the Doctor on Friday morning in Barton, he asked me what my problem was, so I informed him that “I have a crap at about eight o’clock most mornings”, he looked at me and just said “well that is normal, so why are you thinking it is a problem”,
I then told him that it would be normal, but I do not get out of bed till about ten o’clock!!

Yep, this statement and BS thanking it sums it up. Low lifes. What sort of human being finds that funny? Do you find it funny to xxx? Just for your info son, I’m not remotely angry. Whether you or anyone else believes that or not, frankly I couldn’t give a damn.

I remember black players getting racists chants at every ground back in the 80’s as being the norm, shall we go back to allowing that at football grounds as well?

I find BS’s joke offensive to people with incontinence problems.

“Why couldn’t the bicycle get up the hill?”

    “Because it was two-tyred!”

Now that’s a nice PC joke that doesn’t poke fun at anyone.

The said banter that was brought up on the club statement that we are bring up on here as completely nothing to do with black, green, red or any other colour, why do you pleople always revert back to the same subject???? That chanting when the young lady came onto the pitch happens many times at sporting events, but as I say as nothing whatsoever to do with racism, so “cut it out” as you preach so often.

Green people? Have you been seeing aliens? 😂

I see ‘Kick it Out’ are really getting through to the naysayers. Maybe they should change it to ‘Cut it Out’ or ‘Shut That Door’!? 😂
