I would like us to have a lot of players we haven’t got now.
KVV and Toney up front, Holmes and Morris on the wings to start with

It’s all pie in the sky, we were a league side when KVV was with us, it’s all immaterial now, we have to move on with the reality of our current situation.

Should have kept Jarvis on this season’s showing, he’s just knocked in a hat trick for Torquay. Remember him getting plenty of stick from some last season.

Add Hayden Hackney to the list who scored for Boro again last night.

Don’t think Scunny fans are the best judge of player

You missed out the word ” some ” in front of Scunny fans Cliff but I agree with you, however Wonderloaf would vehemently disagree with you 😂

Look it’s the 3 club stooges, no doubt reverting back to type and taking swipes at fans.

Iron awe, Cliff and Awaywego, you’re an odd bunch, aren’t you ?

You’ve gone crusty and stale over the years, where has your freshness gone?

You’re wondering On another thread why players are thriving elsewhere, and then moaning at us for stating Scunny fans jump on players back’s to quick?

    Make your mind up man.

You’ve gone crusty and stale over the years, where has your freshness gone?

It has probably been drained by Swann, added to three relegations in four years.

Added to the bloody dross that you keep watching, I am sure that if the team play worse next season, the gates will top 4,000, the worse it gets, the more of you keep turning up for another portion!!!!

Always amuses me how many on here think they know better than the Manager despite never having Managed a team themselves, many of them blamed Rory Watson for everything when he was here, yet we were a league club then, who’s fault is it now?

Got to disagree on one point Pat, Wonderloaf has been managing on X-box for years now, he knows his stuff mate.

Rory Watsons? Still might have been a league club if he hadn’t played when we were league club.

If’s buts and maybes, if the cops hadn’t opened up the Leppings Lane gates 34 years ago then 97 Liverpool fans would probably still be walking about enjoying their football, such is the lottery of life sometimes. What’s done is done and that includes current and former Iron players and their footballing abilities.

Nah they’d have still all wanted to be behind the goal just like the Geordie’s this season and they had allocated seats, just like we did at Notts the lads stood where they wanted allocated seats or not.

Bit of revisionism required here. Poison dwarf kept KVV and Colclough(Who was a silly boy but he’s got over it)on the bench because they wouldn’t run round like greyhounds.

    KVV is loved at Motherwell.

True enough Pat, Rory was shite his record proves that, the only difference being I was always behind him whenever he played and certainly never booed him on to the pitch, always behind the whole team at every game (till we start to play) sure you know what I mean.t

I can only comment on what I saw whilst these players were at The Iron.
    Watson – poor
KVV – mardy arse, deserved boos on occasions, brilliant on others
    Jarvis – crock/donkey
    Hackney – poor
    Colclough – see KVV
    Wootton – not good enough
    Madden – see KVV
Why players are better pre-Scunny and post-Scunny (excl Watson) is the big question IMO.

Don’t agree re: Wootton and Madden ‘tash. Their only problem was suffering from the SUFC “stick your best striker where he can do least damage” syndrome!

Toney would also fit into your KvV bracket, but he’s now third highest scorer in the PL and likely to move for big bucks in the summer. Also a mention for Matt Crooks who has been instrumental in Boro’s successes this season.

But yes, why elsewhere and not at GP? back in the noughties it was t’other way round?

Fair comment, I just never thought Wootton looked much when he was used properly. The decision to play Madden wide was bizarre to say the least but whatever happened to “I’ll play wherever the manager wants” as opposed to ” I’ll sulk if I don’t get what I want”?
Toney and Crooks – Ah let me reminisce for a moment – bliss!!

Since giving away Kyle Wootton who has been recruited that was as good as him ? Will Swann wasted a fortune recruiting players nowhere is equal.

Paddy Madden – another driven out because someone had to show how powerful they were. And we never stopped paying after this.

Madden must be the most overrated player in the last 20-30 years of the club’s history, I think people just romanticise him because we’ve had so much dross since he left. But he was nowhere near the strikers who had come in the years before him (not fit to lace Hayes’ boots, for example).

Wootton has definitely matured physically and in terms of understanding his game since leaving the Iron but there was definitely potential there. He was better than anyone signed to replace him.

Always thought Jarvis looked pretty decent for me, although never likely to be that prolific he could have made an adequate own brand Steve Torpey for us this season.

    Deserved boos? Why?

Nowhere near the most overrated.. 100% top professional who always gave his all and rarely injured.
