Is he a cause for concern? coming back from a long injury is always difficult and will take time. I just hope he gets the right support and hopefully gets a consistent partner up front. Salford comms were pleased he was taking corners and free kicks rather than in the box and looks to be floating around the pitch, has cast a frustrated figure at times in some of the challenges.

A firing KVV is arguably the best in the division, off his game and he can look lost

No doubt he’s way off it. You’ve got to remember he’s rarely played the last year though. Perhaps he’s playing with fear of getting another injury?

That’s what you get with Kev. We should be used to it by now.

The season we were relegated from L1 he was a waste of space in some games. But as IA says when he’s up for it he’s a legend.

Shame his return has coincided with Loft’s injury. He’s not the only one mind, Hallam looked off the mark too yesterday, and Eisa’s form has dipped dramatically.

Mardy because he’s lost the penalty job?
Subbed off before he was sent off?

He wanted the penalty but it didn’t turn into a big argument to be fair. He seemed to take it alright guess he just wanted a goal to try and get some confidence back.
I think he looks unfit rather than uninterested at the minute but time will tell.

My comment on the other thread was the only time I saw him in the 6 yard box was when he helped to put their goal in the net. No more free kicks 40 yards out, throw ins or corners. O’ Malley and Gillead are perfectly capable to do these duties.

Definitely agree with that. Free kicks in scoring range only and get in the box when we have a corner.

Definitely seems a bit off at the minute, understandable given the injuries. But that discussion with Eisa about the penalty shouldn’t be happening on the pitch, the penalty taker is obviously decided long before the game so it shouldn’t even be up for discussion.

Clearly sulking when he got substituted too.

We all remember when Toney got mardy over who takes pens when it was clearly Josh Morriss who not only took them but had taken them for over a season. Eisa has been taking pens for awhile now to the best of my knowledge so VanVeen should back off and let him continue. We all know he wants to come back and make an impression and when he’s fit and in the mood he is a top player but that doesn’t come at the expense of team spirit and unity which since the start of the year has been excellent. Come on Kev wind your neck in and show a bit of good grace and common sense.

Strange that he does not appear to want to get into the box – maybe no risk of injury taking the free kicks/corners but out of the squad the one to provide the magic would be him so seems a bit strange to me; he is slowly making his way back which makes some of his challenges a nail biting affair, as in its a toss up whether he gets injured or sent off first
