December 31, 2024 at 5:30 pm #296341It only took our present and future manager to walk away from a failing system and the quality of the players starts to show through.
Well done, Andy.6 users thanked author for this post.

Prob been scouted n off in Jan ?? STRANGE HES LEFT OUT AGAIN
December 31, 2024 at 6:09 pm #296346Best first half performance for some time, the subs sort of put paid to any shape and attacking intent second half but the first half made up for it. 9/10 performance 1/10 pitch quality – looks dangerous to play on

December 31, 2024 at 7:28 pm #296354A very enjoyable game to end the year. As others have said excellent first half then professional, keep them at arm’s length, second half.
Pleased for Andy Butler to end the year on a good performance, result and top of the league.
Best wishes to Ross Barrows, looked like he did his knee on one of the very sandy areas of the pitch which looks worse than the grass verge I parked on along Gunness Straight.3 users thanked author for this post.
December 31, 2024 at 7:38 pm #296355Looks like Ross did the old studs planted and knee turned injury, very nasty and painful, nice to see him out on crutches and in the dug out second half, might just mean it’s not quite as long term as it first appeared, fingers crossed Ross. Pitch looks more a “can’t keep your feet or control a ball great first time” pitch rather than an injury maker but it’s horrible to play on and is a pain for both sides. Poorly laid surface pre season coming back to haunt us now and there’s a long way to go till May.

December 31, 2024 at 9:32 pm #296357Yep. It was the pitch wot done for Ross.
Loved that performance. Lots of energy and feistiness in midfield. Danny and Roberts looked class and Carlton getting better each game. My biggest encouragement was Rowley. Now where’s he been?1 user thanked author for this post.
December 31, 2024 at 9:38 pm #296359From what my mate was stating 1st half was exciting and cantered through the 2nd half.
That’s more like it. Is Beck away from the team? Sub.
Not sure why he was brought in tbh.1 user thanked author for this post.
December 31, 2024 at 10:03 pm #296360This is what happens when a manager plays his players in their correct positions. Who would have thought playing Carlton on the wing where he played last season would get more out of him ?
Rowley came in and did really well. I like the balance we have between Clunan, Scales and Rowley.

January 1, 2025 at 5:30 am #296372I adored Clunan when he arrived. His play then sagged but he was looking pretty decent again by the end of the season.
He sagged this season when we fell into the ‘mustn’t correct the faults scenario’.
We finally set up a more intelligent playing system. Lo and behold, he starts looking like the great player he can be.1 user thanked author for this post.

January 1, 2025 at 10:29 am #296386Really enjoyable first half; started with an intent to our mark in the game with that crunching tackle that started the move for Whitehall’s disallowed goal. Game then killed off after 20 minutes.
Hopefully that eases the pressure off Butler and the team and they can now start putting more of the same in. Thought Rowley made a big difference in there, especially linking up with Roberts, hard to fault anyone really today.
The pitch is in a mess though, not even had much football played in it during the last month and winter hasn’t even kicked in. Could end up a quagmire.
Fingers crossed for Barrows aswell, not sure if the pitch played a part but it looked a nasty one.

January 1, 2025 at 11:24 am #296397Players in the right positions at this level makes all the difference. Hopefully it continues and Butler has learned. That’s all I want. No point hounding, insulting him and giving up hope when him succeeding is in our best interests.

January 2, 2025 at 8:55 am #296441What was the attendance? Expect it to be around 3,200 as according to some, gates were set to pummel like a stone.
January 2, 2025 at 9:19 am #296442From memory of the announcement it was 4100 and something with around 180 ish from Kings Lynn.
January 2, 2025 at 9:33 am #2964434165 inc 195 KL … im guessing that is better than expected being NYE and a work day for many.

January 2, 2025 at 3:07 pm #296462So basically the doom and gloom predictions about plummeting gates were BS?

January 2, 2025 at 3:34 pm #296463As were the confident assertions of how we’d definitely slump to midtable and how if you thought otherwise you’d be living in dreamland.

January 2, 2025 at 3:45 pm #296464Surely, it was all dependent on the manager playing a viable system – or no.

January 2, 2025 at 4:39 pm #296473Some spoke as if it didn’t matter and it was a foregone conclusion from before game one. Of course it’s only been a recent revival of form, and Butler needs to continue the improvement, but it never was beyond repair.

January 2, 2025 at 5:47 pm #296478It needed repair that was certain, what was lacking was the inclination to make the necessary ‘repairs’. That seems to have been overcome. (I hope)
I enjoyed that first half more than anything I’ve seen for ages. -
