That today is crystal evidence that Cox isn’t even fit enough to kiss the ground Hill walks on, never mind the soles of his shows.
If Ferrite is still of the opinion that he’s not sure that if Hill was here much earlier we’d be better off, he needs help.
Long way to go but what Hill has done with this group of players is astonishing really. Hill has turned Hippolyte into a top end league 2 player.
If we are to stay up he needs inducting into the magic circle. Top man is Hill, always refreshing to hear his pre and post match interviews, no bull shite and knows what he’s doing.
Best manager we’ve had since Adkins. Granted we’ve had players out with covid today, Kenyon was back and so was Davis. When those covid players are back, with 4 or 5 additions I think we’ll be pretty good.
I hope Hill stays for the long haul. Proper pleased we got him.

A bit lacking with the Barnet mind

Not to urinate on your bonfire but I think Hill is bit more of a better manager lol

December 27, 2021 at 9:28 am #219976Hill is WG’s uncle and I claim my £5.
December 27, 2021 at 9:43 am #219978Comes in and sets out what he expects and what he will do.
Seems on course but early days, his targeting is to win and that is good.

December 27, 2021 at 9:52 am #219980My expectation when appointed was that we were within touching distance of the chasing pack come January.
That expectation has been met and surpassed with the improvement with fitness and performances too.
Best manager we could’ve appointed at that time and gives us a fighting chance at least.

December 27, 2021 at 10:33 am #219981When I picked my tickets for Oldham on Christmas Eve I watched training for a while and although they was lots of praise they was as much criticism but given in a constructive way no shouting and singling out individuals just the team the team the team was the priority.
Also one sentence stood out for me, he said to the players “if you can’t take pressure you are no good to me or the team as football is pressure is all about pressure” as someone else said on the bru we have a very good manager again.
I was never really a Keith Hill fan when we came up against him but once he is at your club you begin to see what a good manager he is! He takes no bullshit on certain things like injuries, fitness, not working hard for the team but he will praise when necessary so players never get the chance to shirk.

December 27, 2021 at 11:17 am #219983Main things for me is Hill speaks his mind, means what he says and doesn’t waffle on with ” football speak “. Bloody hell you have to go back a long way since we’ve had a manager like that and he puts his words into action particularly with this current group training hard, playing better and starting to believe in themselves. Confidence and belief go a long way in life never mind football, he’s just putting the basics of doing things well in general into practice to enable them to improve. With a few additions of his choice next month I believe we will be ok. Nice one Keith.

December 27, 2021 at 11:32 am #219985Form table from last six games has us 15th.
If we continue with this form we’re on for a 47pt finish.
Still squeaky bums, but if we can grab a few wins and build some confidence we could even reach the magic 50!
December 27, 2021 at 12:05 pm #219987Tells them what they need to do.
December 27, 2021 at 12:23 pm #219990I agree Hill was a good appointment and he does seem to be turning things round, but let’s not get carried away, it does feel different this time but how many times before have we had a false dawn.
Onwards and upwards.January 1, 2022 at 4:54 pm #220285BUMP!

Topics: 4It’s too early to make any decision as to whether the long term future of the club will be better under Hill than Cox and player quality and management by the owner have influenced our position.
However, in terms of professionalism we are miles ahead under Hill. The players are actually fit and he seems to have some clue as to where players should play, instead of trying to mould players like Rowe into something they’re not, as he didn’t know how to use them.
It may not be enough to save us, but having a professional manager gives me some hope. With Cox there was none outside of blind hope because he’s a Scunny lad and a nice guy. There was no inkling he was good at man management and certainly not strategy and I find it hard to believe there are some who would question whether we’d be better off under Hill than Cox. I don’t mean this in terms of league standing, but in terms of professionalism, which is what we need to have any possibility of climbing up the league.
If we had stuck with Cox we’d have had the same players run out of steam after 30 minutes, and as poor as they may be, they have shown they can do a little bit better under Hill. With Hill we have a glimmer of hope, but with Cox it was the Conference and pinning our hopes on a manager who has no strategical acumen, no ability to coach fitness or knowledge of where his players should play.

January 1, 2022 at 6:10 pm #220308I largely agree with you BRI, I think Hill has improved us but WG seems to think that I said something different whereas my point was really that as much as Hill has made a difference, I’m not sure we’d be much further up the league if he’d been here all season. After all, it’s now 1 win in 10, so we’re not exactly flying.
January 8, 2022 at 8:15 pm #220915It wouldn’t suprise me to see Hill walk at the end of Jan.
January 8, 2022 at 8:19 pm #220916He’s certainly making it very obvious that the problems here are not of his making, in words and deeds.

I wouldn’t blame him if he did. The useless owner promised a change in tack a few months ago. It seems more of the same for me.

January 8, 2022 at 9:14 pm #220922Hill is much better manager than Cox, that much is clear but Hill is starting to get frustrated now…you can tell by his post match interviews.
Cox feels for the players as they’re giving him everything but they just aren’t good enough, even he’s saying it now.
January 9, 2022 at 12:40 am #220933It wouldn’t suprise me to see Hill walk at the end of Jan.
Exactly what i was thinking .. as pointed out Hills post match interview tack has changed and maybe already got one eye on the door realizing he bit off more than he can chew and working with SWan isnt all its cracked up to be.
NL here we come .. and IMO the very real possibility of administration thus oblivion.SAD TIMES INDEED

January 9, 2022 at 1:05 am #220935I suspect Hill may have had certain assurances before coming here with the promise of getting players in in Jan. All we’ve done is flog Loft with no replacement and signed a kid with no experience as a striking option.
You can tell Hill’s becoming frustrated.

January 9, 2022 at 9:02 am #220938Did Hill give his thoughts on radio Humberside after the Tranmere game. If not why. I too think he may be fed up with Swanny and his promises.

January 9, 2022 at 9:12 am #220939Did try to warn you all when you all thought Swann had changed.
Going down…without a fight.January 9, 2022 at 11:28 am #220956Did Hill give his thoughts on radio Humberside after the Tranmere game. If not why. I too think he may be fed up with Swanny and his promises.
A bit like most supporters then?
January 9, 2022 at 11:58 am #220963Usual Humberside crap, ” we were going to broadcast the views of Keith Hill at half time during the City v Everton cup tie but due to technical difficulties we cant, however here is Rory Watson speaking after the game “. They forgot to mention that Rory sounded like a dog whose arse had just been kicked after chewing his owners slippers for breakfast, Keith’s response on the Scunny website sounded a lot more measured and honest rather then Rory just feeling sorry for himself.
January 9, 2022 at 3:10 pm #220990I wonder if Hill said something he shouldn’t have and Swann got it pulled off air. As you say iron-awe, why did they have Watson’s yet didn’t have Hills ?
Did humberside coverage go to shit and then sort it’s self out for when Watson came to do his interview ?
This is the first time Hill said it was a hard watch and that the players just simply aren’t good enough, he said himself they’re all trying but just need some help.
I suspect this could get a tetchy if this is left another week with no more players coming through the door.
January 9, 2022 at 3:37 pm #220999Hill seems to me to have a strong personality, if new players were part of him accepting the job, if he doesn’t get what he considers to be needed to have a fighting chance he will probably walk away at the end of the window, and who could blame him. The end of the window for new arrivals will probably be too late anyway, we will be cut adrift by then.
