Post match today came across as utterly disheartened and disillusioned. I don’t actually think Hill will leave because he’ll not want to let fans down but I bet he’s regretting coming here now.
Swann would surely have given him certain assurances to get here with the premise being that if we stayed in touch till January and we’d strengthen.
Not quite happened like that though has it ?
I find it absolutely appalling that he decided to sack off Lillis and Cox, to use both their wages to sign a proven manager and then not back him.
I just don’t get what the hell his through process was.
If he had absolutely no intention of doing anything for the club to try and keep us up, why sign a manager like Hill in the first place ?

January 16, 2022 at 1:38 am #221804In truth the writing has been on the wall for a long time, Hill’s comments post match are only what the majority of us have been thinking for most / all of the season, the players just aren’t good enough.
I may be para-phrasing slightly but wasn’t something said by our chairman along the lines of “I’ll do what it takes to keep us up” not too long before the window opened???? What assurances were given to Hill, surely more than what he’s been given?
At what stage would Hill be tempted to offer his resignation?
21 games left of our football league lives, try to take what enjoyment you can out of it, it may be a while before we’re back.1 user thanked author for this post.
January 16, 2022 at 1:57 am #221805With 3 hard fixtures coming up .. (in truth they are all hard)
Newport who are flying
Bristol Rovers ..you just know Loft gonna come back to haunt us (he played in Midfield yesterday for hisnew club if the team shhet n line up was correct.
Port Vale .. again they are playing very well scoring freely and looking good.
DEEP BREATH … SEE WHERE ITS AT AFTER THESE 3
Oh yeah then its Oldham AGAIN
January 16, 2022 at 7:25 am #221806I approved of the Loft departure but this was solely based on the premise of an experienced replacement.
In the second half of January – I am rather less than gruntled.January 16, 2022 at 7:52 am #221807AnonymousInactiveOffline

“Was it just me or did anyone else notice Loft didn’t win one ball in the air yesterday? 6’4″, strong, gets off the ground ok but timing is awful.”
A familiar comment.

January 16, 2022 at 8:43 am #221813Les – it was no premise that you had – more a promise by the chairman live on radio that Loft would not go without replacement being in place – his only door out of this was Burns being the replacement – Simon Elliot closed that one off. So the chairman live on radio stated something that turned out to be false…..unless of course my ears deceived me

January 16, 2022 at 10:56 am #221819No yours ears didn’t deceive you. Swann stated Loft wouldn’t be leaving until we had a replacement. How many fans think Swann know the difference between a downright lie and the truth.

January 16, 2022 at 11:50 am #221822Look at SST’s post, seems like there was a replacement lined up but he decided to go elsewhere.
If this was the case it appears it was a mistake letting Loft go before the replacement deal was signed and sealed. But we don’t know what goes on behind the scenes and we will never know, the same as would be the case at many other clubs.January 16, 2022 at 12:15 pm #221827How many are mistakes and how many are lies to deceive? SWANN has proved that in my opinion he is unfit to to be chairman, to run and own any football club never mind an EFL Club.

Sounds about right. He has his qualities but target man is not one of them.
January 16, 2022 at 8:50 pm #221890Ferrite I’ve said before that Loft is a 5ft + striker, stuck inside a 6ft + body.
Loft to me looks better when he’s partnered with somebody who does their fair share of the donkey work. I must admit that despite being talented he’s a bit of an odd ball.
