I believe the comment containing anything regarding his daughter (I believe it was copied and pasted from elsewhere) was deleted quickly. I saw the thread in which it was contained and it disappeared by the next time I looked at the site (no more than an hour). Hilton’s claim that the site tolerated that message is nonsense.

A great post 64. I want to point out that the title of the post above this one doesn’t match any standard of civility. I pointed it out at the time. I don’t do Facebook or Twitter and so have avoided what seem to be horrendous postings by immature kids ..or older ..but we on here could lead by example.

One positive thing I will say about yesterday’s development is that so many came out in support of the banned fans that it shows hope for unity. Fans who dislike Bru putting that aside to call it out. One fan, who had been recently abusing Hilton critics, calling them scum and all sorts apologised to those he abused more than once.

I was going to clarify the mention of his daughter last night but ran out of time. Siderite is correct as he and I have stated before. A Bru poster unwittingly copied and pasted a post from The Fishy that contained the offending content. The post was spotted within half an hour and deleted. How do I know for sure? I deleted it after consulting Matt. Therefore to say this forum allows that sort of abuse on here is simply not true. We got rid of it as soon as we could. I haven’t seen any other reference to his daughter on here and watch closely. If I’d have seen anything else like that it would have been screenshot before deleting. Thanks

We live in a democracy where free speech is a right of passage and our grandparents fought and gave up the own lives to protect, But if you start to be abusive or slender people whoever they are be careful, social media can be great tool to get you point over! But it’s can easily become a platform for people to abuse each other.
My parents once gave me some great advise which was “ see all, hear all, say only what you can be sure is true” this as always been my way and I don’t believe anything until it’s verified, so don’t listen to gossips who spread these rumours and then hopfully no one can be put in the position some find them selves in today.4 users thanked author for this post.
Fully agree with the OP but in my view it’s several weeks too late. The damage has been done!
Speculation threads have been scattered across the forum like confetti. You know who you are!
Re: the Fishy comments. Perhaps posters should just provide links, not cut and paste text.
We all need to stand together in these times, not fall out with each other.

I agree with the latter, but the abuse and damage has not been one sided from this board. Herbert’s antics, Hilton’s antics and many of those who refused to accept that people are allowed a different opinion to giving Hilton praise have stoked the rift far more than anything on here.
Much of the speculation turned out to have legs.

If that statement turns out to be Hiltons in which he called our fans “spastics” and said he hopes I club dies, this is surely verbal abuse and I could never have imagined any football club owner coming out with that language anywhere. All SUFC supporters must come together if this statement is true and Hilton should be gone.

And much of it hasn’t!
Problem is that the stuff which has is very concerning and now it’s too late. And it’s not because of those with concerns. There has been this laser focus on people for daring to have concerns, yet the worst behaviour has been among Hilton backers and there has been less on that. This has let to people, like Herbert, feeling emboldened enough to act as club vigilante against fans deemed not pro-Hilton enough.

Call a spade a spade, he’s a council estate boy and expresses himself similar to me were talking football here totally different to everything else, I don’t imagine anyone acts like they do on a Saturday anywhere else, just look at those on Saturday on how they acted I’ll even include myself I committed fraud with many others on the trains some didn’t even pay a penny they just blag it I payed but used the more expensive trains and not the ones I booked. And yes I know it doesn’t include all fans I’m sure your well behaved NLI but You’ve never had a kind word for him and now he’s had not kind words about you just a bit more colourful we’re than yours though.
None of that is a valid justification. As a professional, and as someone in the public spotlight, you should hold yourself to a higher standard of behaviour and manners.

You’re totally wrong Awaywego. Don’t tar everyone with the same brush, being disrespectful to people who have been brought up on council estates, as was my husband and many fans our friends. I find it unbelievable if you don’t find some of his words disgusting.

With you on the train thing , where I live the gates are always open and people rarely check ; I have made it good hour journeys for free without a ticket – I take a different view than you though : that I see it as repayment for lack of reliabilty and overpricing .

I see Herbert was still going on about Bru providing a platform for abusive posts about Hilton’s daughter on Twitter 7 hours ago. If you speak to any fellow supporters over the coming days and weeks and they raise this as a concern, please inform them of the truth as I’ve stated above to set the record straight to emphasise the decency and integrity of this forum. It’s been pointed out to him both personally and on numerous platforms that no Scunthorpe fan posted the information personally, but was a screenshot containing a post from an alleged Bury fan on the Grimsby forum. The post was then rightly removed by the mods on here.
He chooses to ignore this information for what reason is his own.
